Clark - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Albert Clark of Hannibal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children, their spouses and friends at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at South Side Christian Church in Hannibal.
Martha M. Smith and Charles Albert Clark were united in marriage on Sept. 9, 1951, at South Side Christian Church.
The Rev. Carlton O. Bebee officiated.
Attendants were Ida R. Smith, Helen Bowen, Darrel Ragland and Marvin Skinner.
Mrs. Clark is the daughter of the late Vaughn B. and Martha Ellen Smith.
Mr. Clark is the son of the late James D. and Julia A. Clark.
They are the parents of three children, Sarah K. Muse of Whiteville, N.C., Becky Clark of Louisville, Ky., and Julia E. Clark of Annapolis, Md.
They have two step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
Mr. Clark is retired from Gardner-Denver in Quincy, Ill.
Mrs. Clark is retired from teaching beginner piano lessons.
She was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and has worked as election judge in the fourth ward since 1972.
They are both active members of South Side Christian Church and the "Care Like Christ" group of the church.
Mrs. Clark is a greeter at the church, a member of the church's Womens Circle and has played the organ there since 1970.
Mr. Clark has been church treasurer for 11 years, is an elder, a soloist and works in the sound room.
Friends and relatives are invited to the reception.
