After his discharge, he worked at Pan American Airways in San Francisco.
From there they moved to Minnesota and then back to Lodi where he worked for Claude C. Woods as an operating engineer for 22 years until his retirement to Pioneer in 1978.
Don and his wife, Grace, who is a homemaker, still live in Pioneer.
Their family consists of three children, Donna Keir of Modesto, Robert Keir of Lodi and Donald R. On the Keir's anniversary date, their son Donald Keir and his wife Debbie, arranged a special surprise trip to San Francisco for the day.
