George and Monty Kenourgios
Wednesday, November 26, 2003
George and Monty Kenourgios were married on Nov. 11. 1951 in Sacramento by George's uncle, an Orthodox Priest.
George located the family in Amador County after coming to visit his mother who lived in San Andreas.
Wanting to keep close to his family, as most of their relatives still lived in Sacramento, Jackson just seemed perfect to be close to everyone.
The couple live in Pine Grove and have three daughters, Jane and her husband Loren Williams; Sharon and her husband Jess Cassella and Abby and her husband Tim Blankenheim.
The family also includes six grandchildren, Jenny, Matthew, Jess, Brian, Bobby and Travis; as well as two great-grandchildren, Haley and George
George and Monty started the Home & Farm Kitchen Supply store in 1973 and retired from there in 1998.
Their daughter Jane and her husband Loren, purchased the store from them and continue to run it today.
Since their retirement, the couple help daughter Sharon with her Jackson business at JB's Awards & Engraving.
But they spend most days outdoors on their patio enjoying the deer in the yard and the bird's nest in the bird houses on the porch.
In honor of their anniversary, Monty's brother, Monte and his wife Terri Lincecum made a surprise trip from Florida to spend a few days visiting.
An anniversary party was held in George and Monty's honor and all the family was present.
