LUCKE - SMITH
Luckes celebrate ruby anniversary
Forty years ago, on July 6, 1963, the bride Susan Christine Smith came down the aisle to wed the bridegroom, Jay Dale Lucke at the Jackson United Methodist Church in Jackson.
Both Susan and Jay had grown up in Amador and attended local schools.
Susan was a graduate from Jackson High School and Jay graduated from Sutter Creek's Amador High School.
They have lived in Amador for over 30 years and this year on July 6, the couple celebrates their 40th wedding anniversary.
A party was given on June 1, 2003 by their children and niece, Tina Gorman and her husband Tim, at the St. George Hotel in Volcano.
Thirty-five guests and family attended and an Alaskan cruise gift was presented to the couple by their children.
Helping their parents celebrate were Jeff Lucke and his wife Kathy of Rocklin; Debbie Peterson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Chris Lucke of Jackson; Tim Lucke and his wife Natasha of Rancho Murieta.
Their grandchildren are Brian and Kyle Lucke; Michael, Matthew, Mitchell and Michelle Peterson; Keely and Jayce Lucke; and Julianna and Rebecca Lucke.
