GREENLAND - Nicole Mendes and Cory Hussey were united in marriage June 1, 2002, in Greenland Congregational Church.
The Rev. Doug Carter performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mendes Sr. of Portsmouth and was given in marriage by her father.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hussey of Greenland.
Mary Mendes of Portsmouth was maid of honor for her cousin.
Bridesmaids were Kim Mendes of Portsmouth, sister of the bride, Laura Hussey of Greenland, the bride’s sister-in-law, and Dayna Parker of Florida, Stephanie Doane of South Berwick, Maine, Crystal Beckert of Hampton and Diana DiCicco of Massachusetts, friends of the bride.
Emily Welch of Kittery, Maine, the bridegroom’s cousin, was the flower girl.
Scott Hussey of Greenland was best man for his brother. Ushering the guests were Roy Mendes Jr. of Portsmouth, the bride’s brother, Ken Hawkins of Portsmouth, John Wentworth of Jamaica Plain, Mass., Jared Fleming and Dan Nadeau, both of Greenland, and Todd Davis of Newmarket, friends of the bridegroom.
Tyriek Ingram of Portsmouth, the bride’s cousin, was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at the Sheraton Harborside of Portsmouth.
Mrs. Mendes attended Portsmouth High School and was a 1999 graduate of Traip Academy, Kittery; a 2001 graduate of White Pines College with an associate degree and will graduate in 2003 with a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design. She is a bartender at Jitto’s Restaurant.
Mr. Hussey is a 1996 graduate of Portsmouth High School and attended Northwestern College in Lima, Ohio.
He is the manager and cook at Jitto’s Restaurant.
Following a honeymoon in the Florida Keys, they are making their home in Portsmouth.
