HAMPTON FALLS - Maria Michaela Nastasia and Robert Keith Wiener, both of Hampton Falls, were united in marriage July 6, 2002, in the family’s apple orchard in Hampton Falls.
The ceremony was performed by Spiritual Leader John Mari Campbell.
The ceremony was a multi-denominational event that included a purification of the couple by smudging, calling in the forces of the four directions, and a blessing of the rings with Tibetan bells.
Following the ceremony there was a rose petal blessing performed by Brugh Joy.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Patricia Nastasia of Plum Island, Newbury, Mass.
She was given in marriage by her father.
The groom is the son of Ernest and Peggy Wiener of Key Biscayne, Fla.
Laura D. Nastasia of Mechanicville, N.Y., was maid of honor for her sister.
Bridesmaids were Donna Deroche of Seabrook and Nancy Roka of Hampton Falls, friends of the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were Hope Jones of the American Embassy, Kuwait, the groom’s niece and Norah Berry and Norah Berry of Arlington, Mass., friend of the bride.
Flower girls dressed as fairies were Flower girls (fairies) were Kate Lee Berry of Arlington, Mass. and Ellen Mahoney of Mansfield, Mass., friends of the bride.
Paul James Wiener of Flagstaff, Ariz., was best man for his brother. Ushers were Rick Berry of Arlington, Mass. and Omar Rayyan of Martha’s Vineyard, friends of the groom.
Junior ushers were Ben Jones of the American Embassy in Kuwait, the groom’s nephew, and Luke Berry of Arlington, Mass., friend of the groom.
Ringbearer was Callum Thompson Hale of London, England, friend of the groom.
The bride is a self-taught traditional and digital artist. She is a freelance fantasy painter, designer of gardens and Web pages.
The bridegroom is a 1969 graduate of MIT.
He is president of Donald M. Grant Publisher, Inc. which publishes limited edition illustrated books including Stephen King's Dark Tower series.
After a honeymoon in Vietnam, the couple is making their home in Hampton Falls.
