ROCHESTER - Melissa Ann Bourgeois and William Ryan Burns, both of Portsmouth, were united in marriage June 6, 2002, in the bride’s mother’s home in Rochester.
Gloria Esposito performed the ceremony.
The bride’s father, Richard Bourgeois, sang "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait.
The bride is the daughter of Brenda Costello of Rochester and Richard Bourgeois of Milford.
The groom is the son of Janice Burns of Acton, Maine and William Burns of Portsmouth.
Nicole Bourgeois of Saco, Maine was maid of honor for her sister.
Bridesmaids were Rebecca Allard of West Brookfield, Mass., friend of the bride, and Lindsey Burns of Portsmouth, the groom’s sister. Kaitlyn Taylor Brown of Kittery, Maine, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
Danny Bryson of Manchester was best man for his friend.
Ushers were Shawn Roberts of Portsmouth, friend of the groom, and William Burns of Portsmouth, the groom’s father.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franklin Pierce College in 1995.
She is co-manager of Pacific Sunwear in Kittery, Maine.
The groom received a bachelor of arts in physical education from Plymouth State College in 2000. He is employed at the Rye Airfield.
The reception was held at Yoken’s in Portsmouth.
The couple is making their home in Barrington.
