Head - Johnston
PORTSMOUTH - Kathryn Head and Robert Johnston were united in marriage recently in St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The Rev. Tim Rich officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Christopher Head of Grantham and Ione Denny of Lake George, N.Y., and was given in marriage by her father.
The bridegroom is the son of Richard and Anne Johnston of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Sarah Head of Portsmouth was the maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Julie Lysiak of Framingham, Mass., Suzanne Klunk of Portsmouth, Amy Allard of Rollinsford, and Suzanne Bilhartz and Leah Johnston, both of Los Angeles and sisters of the bridegroom. Samantha Cooperrider of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., the bride’s niece, was the junior bridesmaid.
Mark Smith of Denver, Colo., was best man for his friend. Ushering the guests were Mike Camp of Portsmouth, Mark Thurber, James McManus, Jordy Almgrenn and Hale Harmon, all of Aspen, Colo., friends of the bridegroom and Brady Bilhartz of Los Angeles, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Alex Head, the bride’s brother, was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel, Portsmouth, where Thomas Cooperrider and John Cooperrider presented the guest book.
Mrs. Johnston is a 1995 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with bachelor of art degrees in English and psychology. She is employed by Harbour Women’s Health.
Mr. Johnston is a 1992 graduate of Cal State, Fullerton, with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. He is the general manager of Riverside Cartop Carriers.
Following a honeymoon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, they are making their home in Portsmouth.
