LANCASTER, Pa. — Jennifer Anne Light and Benjamin F. Spead were united in marriage Nov. 17, 2001. The Rev. John S. Light and the Rev. Bob Whittet officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The soloist was Kathryn O'Leary of Reading, Pa., the pianist was Olivia Pascarella of Redbank, N.J., the harpist was Katherine Dolfe of Philadelphia., the violinist was J. Steven Light of Lancaster, Pa., the trumpeter was Ernie Mathews of Chesapeake, Va., and the organist was Derek Stauff. Readings were offered by Noah Tyler.
The bride is the daughter of the Rev. John S. Light and Mrs. Patricia L. Light of Lancaster and was given in marriage by her father.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. William S. Spead and Mrs. Beth J. Spead of Brentwood.
Mariwyn Light of Lancaster was maid of honor for her sister and Amy Ransom of New Hope, Pa., was matron of honor for her friend. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Spead of Brentwood, the bridegroom's sister, Virginia Noftsier of South Charleston, W.V., Allison Rees of Rochester, N.Y., Anne Blackford of Carlisle, Pa., and Kathryn O'Leary of Reading, Pa., friends of the bride. Margaret Spead of Brentwood, the bridegroom's niece, was the flower girl.
Scott Whaley of Severno Park, Md., was the best man. Ushering the guests were Brent Spead, Brian Spead and Bradley Spead, all of Brentwood and the bridegroom's brothers, Steven Light of Lancaster, the bride's brother, Bill Hodgeman of Rye and Brain Taggert of Lewisberry, Pa., friends of the bridegroom. David Wingert of Lititz, Pa., the bride's cousin, was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at the Lancaster Country Club where Chella Marie Crouse presented the guest book.
Mrs. Spead is a 1997 graduate of Manheim Township High School and a 2001 summa cum laude graduate of Grove City College with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She is a staff accountant with Deloitte & Tauche LLP, Boston.
Mr. Spead is a 1997 graduate of Exeter AREA High School and a 2001 summa cum laude graduate of Grove City College with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. He is a technical services engineer for MNS Communications in Framingham.
Following a honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the are making their home in Natick, Mass.
