Jerry and Ruth Miller Anniversary
Jerry ``Gerald'' and Ruth Miller, 1821 21st St., Rock Island, will be observing their 55th wedding anniversary on Sept. 3, 2004.
The couple will be taking a trip at a later date, in recognition of the occasion. It is requested gifts be omitted.
The former Ruth Williams and Mr. Miller, both of Chippewa Falls, Wis., were married Sept. 3, 1949, in the First Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls.
Their children and spouses are Jana and Jeff Peterson, Port Byron; Paula and Ron Roberts; Perry, Iowa; and Steven Miller, Colorado Springs.
A son, Mark Miller, deceased, is now with the Lord.
There are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was employed at Franciscan Medical Center, where he was chief physical therapist, retiring in June of 1988 after 34 years.
He practiced physical therapy for a total of 41 years.
He is a World War II Navy Veteran.
Mrs. Miller retired in 1993 after 17 years at Augustana College where she was an executive secretary.
The couple belong to Community Christian Fellowship, Moline.
