Elmer and Ola Peel Anniversary
Elmer and Ola Peel, 638 8th St., Silvis, will be honored Aug. 9 at an open house in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4-6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, East Moline, where the couple holds membership.
The former Ola Overstreet, Bridgeton, N.J., and Mr. Peel, also of Bridgeton, were married Aug. 8, 1953, in the home of a pastor in Bridgeton.
Their children and spouses are Sheryl Adams, East Moline, Sandy and Jim Long, Silvis, Rose Banas, Hatfield, Mass., Elmer Peel, Jr., Colona, and Linda Ruby, Silvis.
There are 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Peel was employed for 28 years by the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1992.
He is currently employed by Ace Hardware, Davenport.
Mrs. Peel is a homemaker.
