Gene and Jane Anderson Anniversary
Gene and Jane Anderson, 1805 54th St. Court, Moline, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 13 in Pana, Ill., attending the church.
The former Jane Clarke, Tower Hill, Ill., and Mr. Anderson, Pana, were married July 13, 1943, in the First Presbyterian Church, Pana.
Gene and Jane were married while Gene was on leave from the Army.
Soon thereafter he was sent to Europe and served in combat until the end of World War II.
After the war Gene and Jane moved from Pana to Rock Falls, Ill., and then to tht Tri-Cities (now the Quad Cities), settling in Moline in 1949.
Their children and spouses are Rick and Sylvia Anderson, Moline; Joan Anderson, Moline, and the late Gene Anderson Jr.; Randy and Mary Beth Anderson, Park Ridge, Ill.; and Greg and Kim Anderson, Estes Park, Colo.
There are 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson was employed for 22 years by Bakers Dairy, Moline, where he was a route salesman and supervisor.
He later was employed for 10 years in the experimental shop at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, retiring from there in 1988.
Mrs. Anderson also was employed at John Deere Harvester Works, in the industrial engineering department where she was a standard data applicator.
She retired in 1984 after 21 years.
The couple belong to the First Presbyterian Church, East Moline.
