Calvert - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Calvert of Hannibal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28, 2001, at Immanuel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Hannibal.
Marjorie Lucke and Bob Calvert were united in marriage on Oct. 28, 1951, at the First Baptist Church in Palmyra. The Rev. W. E. Sutterfield officiated.
Mrs. Calvert is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franke Lucke and Mr. Calvert is the son of Grace Calvert of Palmyra and the late Homer Calvert.
They are the parents of three daughters, Karen Pool of Lincoln, Mo., Kay Smith of Jacksonville, Fla., and Calisse McPherson of Davenport, Iowa. They have seven grandchildren.
Mr. Calvert retired after 30 years from Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative as communication engineer.
He then established the Calvert Consulting Business.
He retired from the consulting business in 1996.
Mrs. Calvert worked for the University of Missouri Extension Center in Palmyra for a number of years.
She then joined Mr. Calvert in the consulting business until their retirement.
Mrs. Calvert presently helps part-time at the Carpenter's Kids Immanuel Baptist Church Daycare.
They are active members of Immanuel Baptist Church.
