Cook - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. James Cook of New London will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at the New London Senior Citizen Center.
Doris Marie Hill and James Archie Cook were united in marriage on Oct. 21, 1951, in Hannibal.
The Rev. John Golden officiated.
Attendants were Arthur Hill, brother of the bride, and Helen Hill.
Mrs. Cook is the daughter of the late Edgar William and Fannie Mae Smith Hill.
Mr. Cook is the son of the late Archie Martin and Griseldia Caroline Harrison Cook.
They are the parents of three daughters, Vicki Miller and Debbie Quick, both of New London and Tracy Lennox of Louisiana.
They have six grandchildren, Leesa Gibson, Chris Miller, James Quick, Nathan Quick, Skyler Lennox and the late Joshua Quick; and five great-grandchildren, Quinton Quick, Alexandria Quick, McKayla Quick, Dillon Quick and Hunter Gibson.
Mr. Cook retired from Pacific Intermountain Express in July 1991, where he had been employed as a truck driver for 25 years.
Mrs. Cook is a full-time homemaker who enjoys gardening.
They enjoy traveling together and have visited all 50 of the United States, plus Mexico and Canada.
