Miss Megan Cardiff Wall and Mr. Matthew Scott Deen were united in marriage on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at half past seven o'clock in the evening at Saint Michael Catholic Church. The Reverend Monsignor Edward Randall officiated the double ring ceremony. Mr. Robin Roewe, soloist, Mrs. Leigh Shipman, soloist, Dr. Dan Shipman, trumpeter, Mr. Norman Sutphin, organist, and the Fine Arts String Quartet, provided music for the ceremony. A reception followed at the Forest Club with music by the Next Level. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bistro Vino.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Wall, junior of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. John William Cardiff of Katy, Texas and the late Mr. Cardiff. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lawrence LeMoine and Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Wall, both of Houston, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Katherine Patee Deen and Mr. Daniel Lee Deen, both of Fort Worth, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. George Calloway Deen of Fort Worth, Texas and the late Mr. Deen, the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert David O'Brien and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Foster Patee.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose an elegant gown by Paula Varsalona. The strapless gown featured a white silk organza ball gown skirt with a dropped waist, a silk satin bodice, and a chapel length train. To compliment her gown the bride chose a beaded alencon lace wrap that draped her shoulders. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley.
Serving her sister as Matron of Honor was Carlen Wall Orlando of Houston, Texas. Bridesmaids included Lauren Elizabeth Deen, sister of the groom, of Fort Worth, Texas, Meghann Faye Hewitt of Denver, Colorado, Dawn Blankenship Tucker and Sara Elizabeth Yungblut, both of Dallas, Texas, Allison Lewis Cattan and Kelly Nicole Kachler, both of Houston, Texas, Lauren Chandler Ditchman of Katy, Texas, Julie Lynn Pearson of New York, New York and Carolyn Cornelia Lee of Washington, DC. Members of the House Party included Meredith Paine Stanford of Austin, Texas, Jennifer Wray Baldwin, Leigh Wittenbraker Jones and Staci Nicole Rivas, all of Fort Worth, Texas, Maggie Russell Baker, Hillary Ann Hardy, Elizabeth Jean Hudson, Kimberly Anne Nelson, Kristen Johnson Stewart and Meredith Lind Turner, all of Houston, Texas, and Rachel Elizabeth Peterson of Naples, Florida. Calloway Michelle Deen and McKinlee Helen Deen, both of Fort Worth, Texas, Jordan Christine Boltres of Traverse City, Michigan and Ashley Grace Stewart of Houston, Texas served as flower girls.
Gregory Edward Henderson of Houston, Texas served as Best Man. Megan is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston and Texas Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance, a Master of Accountancy degree and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She is employed by KPMG, LLP in Fort Worth. Matt is a graduate of All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth and Texas Christian University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing, a Master of Business Administration degree and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He is employed by the Fort Worth Business Press.
Following a honeymoon to Ikal del Mar on the Mayan Riviera, Megan and Matt will reside in Fort Worth, Texas.
