Miss Estela Marie Sandoval and Mr. David Allen Cockrell were united in marriage on Saturday, September 4, 2004, at six o'clock in the evening on the Buffalo River at the Pinto Ranch in Moran, Wyoming. The ceremony was officiated by The Reverend Ben Young of Second Baptist Church, of Houston Texas. The Snake River Strings of Jackson, Wyoming provided music during the ceremony. Solos were performed by Mr. John Franklin Stevens and Mrs. Laura Jennings Turner. Mrs. Janet Schuster Cockrell, the mother of the groom, read several biblical selections during the service.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception on the ranch. Guests were greeted at the reception with mariachi music by Mariachi Zavala of Salt Lake City. Dinner and dancing followed under a tent with music by the Snake River Band of Jackson and the Disco Drippers of Salt Lake City. On the eve of the wedding, the Mr. and Mrs. Cockrell hosted a western rehearsal dinner at Jackson Lake Lodge in the Grand Teton National Park.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jose Gonzalo Sandoval of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francisco M. Sandoval, Mrs. Guadalupe Leija Maldonado and the late Mr. Renulfo Maldonado.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harris Cockrell of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dashiell Cockrell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter G. Schuster, Jr.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a bridal gown with an embroidered strapless bodice adorned with pearls and an ivory French silk ruffled skirt. Her cathedral length Chantilly lace mantilla veil was made by her mother. The bride carried a bouquet of rich red flowers and the ceremony was conducted under a hand carved arch adorned with a variety of white flowers.
Mrs. Sonia Sandoval Watt, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included, Mrs. Stephanie Aliquo Cockrell, Miss Erin Lankford, Miss Emily Elizabeth Manderson, Miss Kelly Ryland Peterson, Mrs. Ana Trillos Rubel. Miss Grace Carol Turner, cousin of the groom, served as the flower girl. House party attendants included Miss Leila-Scott Mitchel, Miss Katherine Lea Schuchardt, Miss Veronica Taboada, and Miss Lori Mitchell Woschnagg.
Mr. Ernest Harris Cockrell and Mr. Ernest Dashiell Cockrell, father and brother of the groom, served as the best men. Groomsmen included Mr. Christopher Bradfield Chappelear, Mr. Russell Louis Ferreri, Mr. John Webb Jennings, III, and Mr. Thomas David Johnson, III. John Harold Turner, James, Cameron Watt, Joseph Conner Watt and Joshua Carson Watt served as junior ushers. Ushers included Mr. Jacob Fulbright Baker, Mr. John Sabastian Fitzhum, Mr. Louis Eli Thompson, and Mr. John Albert Turner.
The bride is a graduate of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Art in Speech Communication from Texas A & M University and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. The groom is a graduate of Second Baptist High School of Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Geology from Vanderbilt University. The groom is self-employed in Colorado. Following a honeymoon in Africa, the couple will reside in Colorado.
