Moomaw - 50th
Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Moomaw of Center celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 25, 2001, with a small dinner party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lewellen at Fiddlestiks in Hannibal.
Juanita Burroughs and James A. Moomaw were united in marriage on March 21, 1951, at the home of the Rev. John Golden in Hannibal. Attendants were Betty Moomaw, sister of the bridegroom; and Neal Schulte, cousin of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Moomaw is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Burroughs. Mr. Moomaw is the son of Mildred Moomaw of Center and the late J.W. Moomaw.
They are the parents of two children, Joyce Lewellen of New London and Mike Moomaw of Center. They have three grandchildren, Allen Sweeting and Jennifer Moomaw, both of Center and Chris Moomaw of Columbia.
Mr. Moomaw is a retired farmer. He is employed by the Ralls County Road Commission and restores antique tractors as a hobby. Mrs. Moomaw is employed by Home Care of Mid-Missouri. They both attend area threshers reunions.
