Miss Alexis Elizabeth Montle and Mr. Daniel Hamilton Eaton were united in marriage on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at seven o'clock in the evening at Saint Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The Reverend Laurence A. Gipson, D.D. officiated the double ring ceremony. Organist and Director of Music, George Ellis Mims provided ceremony music. Scripture readings were given by Miss Kim McArthur Masterson and Mrs. Kristen Masterson Jacks, cousins of the bride. A reception followed at the Houston Club with music provided by Sammie and Friends. The bride's mother's close friend, Mrs. Cooky Maddox Mays and the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Mary Mortimer McNiven hosted a bridesmaids' luncheon the afternoon of the wedding at Brennan's. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at The Warwick Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Rusch Montle of Houston, Texas and Mr. Paul Joseph Montle of Charlestown, Massachusetts. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Mortimer McNiven of Delray Beach, Florida and the late Mr. Robert Donald Rusch of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and the step-granddaughter of the late Mr. Charles McNiven of Falmouth, Massachusetts. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. Joseph Frederick Montle of Falmouth, Massachusetts and the late Mrs. Frances Fogarty Montle.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hamilton Eaton of Sugar Land, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. Fred William Eaton of Spring, Texas and the late Mrs. Frances T. Eaton, and the late Mrs. Oma Cantrell Cerrone and the late Mr. Patrick C. Cerrone of Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white silk organza gown designed by Priscilla of Boston. The gown featured a beaded waistband and A-line skirt, which extended into a cathedral length train. Her single tier veil of illusion fell softly to cathedral length. The bride carried a hand-tied clutch bouquet of fuchsia roses.
Miss Daphne Caroline Montle of Boston, Massachusetts served her sister as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Georgina Newmark Armstrong of Houston, Texas; Miss Courtney Snow Blackburn of Centreville, Virginia; Mrs. Sarah Eaton Bull, sister of the groom, of Houston, Texas; Miss Caroline Anne Fidyk of Baltimore, Maryland; Miss Christina Elaine Eaton, sister of the groom, of Garland, Texas; Miss Chloe Miller Reynolds of New York, New York; Mrs. Jamie Rock Richardson of Norfolk, Virginia; and Mrs. Karen Eaton Sumek, sister of the groom, of La Mesa, California. Members of the house party were Miss Stephanie Elise Fadem, Miss Hilary Kerner Orr, and Miss Amy Elizabeth Readinger all of Houston, Texas. Miss Tessa Katherine Sumek, niece of the groom, of La Mesa, California served as flower girl.
Mr. Keith Taylor Neal of Sugar Land, Texas served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. John Ryan Alcorn of Wilton Manors, Florida; Mr. Zachary Louis Axelrod of Houston, Texas; Mr. Fredrik Bull, brother-in-law of the groom, of Houston, Texas; Mr. Brian O. Free of Boulder, Colorado; Mr. Christopher Charles Lyman of Houston, Texas; Mr. Richard Curtis Schmidt of Birmingham, Alabama; Mr. Jeffrey Hayden Stephens of Garland, Texas; and Mr. Matthew Sloan Sumek, brother-in-law of the groom, of La Mesa, California. Serving as ushers were Mr. Michael Dominic Cerrone, cousin of the groom, of College Station, Texas, Mr. Allen Preston Bertin, Mr. Jason Ryan Felt, and Mr. Joshua Joseph Paul Jones, all of Houston, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of St. John's School in Houston, Texas and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs. She is currently the Development Manager for the Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
The groom is a graduate of Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas and the University of Houston, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising. The groom was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at the University of Texas. He is currently the Marketing Director for the Office of James H. Eaton, C.P.A.
After their honeymoon to the island of Oahu, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas with their dogs, Marley and Roscoe, and their cat, Rutland.
