Miss Sarah Virginia Simmons and Mr. Keith Charles Heinrich were united in marriage on Saturday, July 10, 2004, at half past six o' clock in the evening at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Bryan Donahoo of Graceview Baptist Church, Tomball, Texas. Scripture readings were given by Robert S. Simmons, Ernest C. Heinrich, and Lauren Wood. Music for the ceremony was provided by Variation on an Ensemble, String Quartet, Dr. Daniel Shipman, trumpeter, Mr. Greg Barry, organist, Mrs. Linda Stanley pianist, and Ms. Sarah Horton and Mr. Frank Bennett, soloists. Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted dinner and dancing at the Marriott, Town Square, Sugar Land, Texas, with music provided by The Kelly Dean Band and Jetspeed Entertainment.
The wedding festivities began the day before the wedding with a bridesmaids' luncheon hosted by Cynthia Olsen, sister of the bride, Mrs. Jeri Obermiller, and Mrs. Thelma Young, close family friends of the bride, at the Neiman Marcus Tea Room. A golf tournament for the groom's wedding party was hosted by the groom at Blackhorse Ranch Golf Course. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Guadalajara Restaurant. The day of the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Kenton Cantrell, cousins of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Simmons, aunt and uncle of the bride, hosted a luncheon for the out-of-town guests and family.
The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Simmons of Cypress, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Judson Moncrief, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Simmons, all of Houston. The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Heinrich of Tomball, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mrs. Kathy Loy and Mr. Elliot Loy of Freeport, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Clerus Heinrich of Houston.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a classic white silk satin strapless gown designed by Lazaro featuring silver hand beading and embroidery, accenting a sweetheart neckline and basque waist. The full skirt fell from box pleats, adorned with continued complementing patterns of beading and embroidery, sweeping into a chapel length train. To complete the ensemble, the bride chose a cathedral length beaded Lazaro veil with blusher trimmed with an intricate pattern of embroidery, reflecting the gown's design. According to family tradition, the bride wore the Moncrief pearls given to her by Cynthia Olsen, sister of the bride. She carried a beautifully composed hand tied, teardrop bouquet of white roses.
Mrs. Cynthia Olsen of Friendswood, Texas, served her sister as Matron of Honor. Miss Caroline Simmons of Cypress, Texas, served her sister as Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids included Miss Kristina Alturo of New York, New York, Mrs. Kim Audibert of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Laura Hunter, sister of the groom, of Corinth, Texas, Miss Laura McArthur of The Woodlands, Texas, Miss Sarah Ray of Austin, Texas, and Miss Amy Simmons, sister-in-law of the bride, of Houston. The attendants wore floor length gowns of platinum satin and carried hand tied bouquets of roses in varying shades of pink and burgundy. Serving as flower girl was Miss Sally Simmons, niece of the bride, of Houston. Honor attendants included Miss Lauren Wood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Miss Lisa Capps of Spring, Texas, and Miss Stephanie Hall of Katy, Texas.
Mr. Ernest Heinrich of Tomball, Texas, served his son as Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Kirk Broom of Watauga, Texas, Mr. Matt Buss of Katy, Texas, Mr. Dennis Fay of Cypress, Texas, Mr. Stacey Hunter, brother-in-law of the groom, of Corinth, Texas, Mr. Robert Simmons, brother of the bride, of Houston, and Mr. P. J. Traylor of Fort Worth, Texas. Serving as ushers were Mr. Brian Edwards, cousin of the groom, of Tomball, Texas, Mr. Barret Heinrich, cousin of the groom, of Cypress, Texas, Mr. Brian Jordy of Austin, Texas, Mr. Rick Fernandez, and Mr. Kevin Mohr, both of Houston. Serving as Ring Bearer was Master James Simmons, nephew of the bride, of Houston.
The Bride is a graduate of Tomball High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Sam Houston State University, Summa Cum Laude, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She has taught for two years in Tomball Independent School District and will be pursuing a graduate degree in counseling from the University of Houston in the fall.
The Groom is a graduate of Tomball High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University, where he was a member of the football team, basketball team, and Sigma Chi fraternity. He is currently a member of the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.
Following a honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii, the couple will alternately reside in Cleveland, Ohio, and Houston, Texas.
