Miss Mary Elizabeth Harn and Mr. Kevin Thomas Conlon were united in marriage on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 7 o'clock in the evening at the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. The Reverend William J. Carl, III officiated the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Mr. Thomas F. Froelich, organist, Mr. Michael Boschert, soloist and Mr. David Williams, trumpeter. Scripture readings were given by the Reverend Wade Liberator. A reception followed at The Pavilion at the Belo Mansion with music provided by Cuveè. On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Mattito's. On Friday, a bridesmaid's luncheon was held at Inessa Stewart's Renaissance Garden, hosted by Mrs. Hugh E. Brown and Mrs. Richard H. Voris, both aunts of the bride, and Mrs. William E. Pielop, III and Mrs. Paul E. Anderson, Jr., both longtime family friends of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olin Lee Harn, III. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. H.E. Thrash of Hope, Arkansas and Mr. & Mrs. Olin Lee Harn, Jr. and the late Mrs. Monna Lou Harn, all of Houston, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Donald Thomas Conlon of Dallas, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. William V. Conlon and the late Mr. William V. Conlon, both of Medfield, Massachusetts and Mr. & Mrs. Gillis Thomas of Dallas, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose to wear the bridal gown originally worn by the groom's mother at her wedding. Sensitive restyling by Michael Faircloth revealed a strapless dress of English cotton net which fit close to the body and fell to chapel length. Delicate pearls enhanced the reembroidered Alencon lace which was appliquéd to the netting. Scallops of lace also trimmed the fingertip-length veil, which hung gracefully from a small prayer cap and was first worn by the bride's mother at her wedding.
Miss Laura Katherine Harn and Miss Jennifer Lee Harn, sisters of the bride, served as the Maids of Honor, and wore soft pink silk strapless gowns by Vera Wang and carried garden bouquets of pink roses. Miss Jordan Elizabeth Jones of Dallas, Texas served as the flower girl.
The honorary attendants included Miss Diane Stewart Barron of Nederland, Texas, Mrs. Tiffany Barnes Carroll of Murphy, Texas, Miss Heather Diane Chimarys of Dallas, Texas, Miss Kimy Clare Cordell of Houston, Texas, Miss Amy Elizabeth Forrester, Miss Laura Elise Henry, Miss Jessica Johnson, all of Houston, Texas, Miss Christina Grace Sartwell of Dallas, Texas, and Miss Melissa Lillian Wilson of New York, New York.
Mr. William Keith Conlon and Mr. Patrick Casey Conlon, brothers of the groom, served as the Best Men. Mr. Ryan Trent Jones of Dallas, Texas served as the ring bearer.
Serving as ushers were Mr. Tyler Harmon Edwards of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Matthew Ray Fulmer of Flower Mound, Texas, Mr. Kaleb Ross Kelly Hancock of Temple, Texas, Mr. Jason Gregory Howard of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Steven Brock Jeffus of Conroe, Texas, Mr. John Ryan Knicely of Paducah, Kentucky, Mr. Chad Grantham Lemons of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Jerrod Robert Vaughan of Waxahachie, Texas, and Mr. Jeffrey Brian-Edward Wells of Richmond, Virginia.
The bride is a graduate of Westfield High School in Houston, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Public Relations, and a minor in Spanish and Political Science from Baylor University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She also received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Baylor University School of Law. Marybeth is a litigation attorney with Travis & Thompson, P.C. in Dallas, Texas.
The groom is a graduate of Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, and a minor in Business from Baylor University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Kevin is a real estate broker with the Gillis Thomas Company in Dallas, Texas.
Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Conlon will reside in Dallas, Texas.
