Miss Taylor Lauren Berchelmann and Mr. William Keith Burba II were united in marriage on Saturday, August 21, 2004 at half after seven in the evening at Bentwater Yacht Club in Montgomery, Texas. The Reverend Doctor John K. Graham of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Music for the ceremony was performed by Chamber Music Unlimited. Scripture readings were given by Diane Marie Saliba, godmother of the bride. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the yacht club with music provided by Blackie and the Bullets. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Landry's in The Woodlands. On the day of the wedding, the bride's grandmother and aunt hosted a bridesmaids' brunch at Bentwater Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard H. Brister of Montgomery and Dr. and Mrs. John A. Berchelmann, Jr. of San Antonio. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lillian Shullanberger of San Antonio and the late Mr. Rex E. Shullanberger, and Dr. and Mrs. John A. Berchelmann of San Antonio.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Friedrich of Austin, and Mr. William K. Burba of Leander. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin C. Fritsche of Smithville, and the late Mrs. Elberta W. Burba.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her step-father, the bride wore an elegant v-neck candlelight sheath gown of Shiffili lace over Charmuese satin embellished with bugle beads and Swarovski crystals. The low back flowed gracefully into a sweep train which was also adorned by beaded scallops of lace. To compliment her gown, the bride wore a cascading veil of shimmer tulle accented with a delicate ivory and silver cording. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of varying shades of red roses.
Claudia Ayala Berchelmann, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor. Katie Suzanne Burba, sister of the groom, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Elizabeth Perry Ault of Trabuco Canyon, California; Elissa Kathleen Berchelmann and Lindsay Elaine Berchelmann of San Antonio; Heather Jeannine Huston of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Elizabeth Nowlin Shipman of Memphis, Tennessee; and Carolina Walker of Houston. The bridesmaids wore full-length claret red chiffon over satin gowns with an empire waistline that flowed into an a-line skirt. Mackenzie Grace Edson and Mary Elizabeth Edson of Dallas served as flower girls.
Robert John Burba of Houston, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen included Casey James Bryant, Ryan Jason Bryant, Jack Gregory Rozek, and Brian Kenneth St. Aubin of Houston; Jeffrey Cameron Lehmann of Austin; Joseph Edward Mulrooney of Rogers, Arkansas; and Jeromy Francis Sherman of Memphis, Tennessee. Kevin Keegan Martin and Preston Lee Martin served as ring bearers. Serving as ushers were Bradley Brown Ault of Trabuco Canyon, California; Ryan Nicholas Berchelmann, brother of the bride, of Houston; Eddie Kyle Campbell of Oxford, Mississippi; and John Carsten Friedrich, brother of the groom, of Austin.
The bride completed coursework in International Studies and Spanish through the University of Wisconsin's study abroad program in Sevilla, Spain. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Mississippi and is currently continuing her academic studies at the University of Houston. The groom received his BBA in Finance and his MBA from the University of Mississippi and is currently an analyst with the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers in Houston.
Following a honeymoon in Anguilla, the couple will reside in Houston.
