Emily Catherine Chaudoir and William Davis Adams were united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony on July 24, 2004, at half after seven o'clock in the evening at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by The Reverend Wayland N. Coe. Ceremony music was provided by organist, Mr. Beal Thomas, flutist, Ms. Heather Berkley, violinist, Ms. Ashley Vandiver, cellist, Mr. Arthur Marshall, and the St. Thomas' Episcopal Pipe Band. The scripture reading was given by Mr. James Edward Chaudoir, uncle and godfather of the bride.
A reception followed at the Junior League of Houston with music provided by Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The State Grille. Prior to the wedding, Ms. Grace Elizabeth Evans, Ms. Charlotte Haynes, both godmothers of the bride, and Mrs. Patricia Womack, hosted the bridesmaids' luncheon at the home of Mrs. Womack.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Patrick Chaudoir of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew James Etter of Fort Worth, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Patrick Chaudoir of Port Allen, Louisiana.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George B. Adams of Houston, Texas and the grandson of Mrs. Russell Louis Cook of Houston, Texas, the late Mr. Russell Louis Cook of La Marque, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George B. Adams of Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory ball gown designed by Lazaro featuring an Alencon lace bodice and box pleated silk organza skirt. The bride carried a hand tied clutch bouquet of Anna roses.
Caroline Elaine Chaudoir of Houston, Texas, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. Kathryn Lacey Glenewinkel of College Station, Texas, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Winifred Ann Cowart, Rebecca Katherine Jackson, and Courtney Elizabeth Williams, all of Houston, Texas, Danielle Katharine Lemuth of San Diego, California and Sarah Frances Matthews of Fort Worth, Texas.
George Michael Adams of Houston, Texas, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Scott Russell Cook, cousin of the groom, Christopher Edward Hutcheson, Joseph Allen Mattingly, Jr., James Akin McAlister, IV, and Lange Michael Thomas all of Houston Texas, and Andrew Patrick Chaudoir, brother of the bride, of San Antonio, Texas. Serving as Ushers were Kolby Morton Beich, Charles Clayton Conrad, Alexander Hughes Jackson, and James Richard Kadlick, all of Houston, Texas, Joshua William Freeborn, of Austin, Texas, William Spencer Hart and Casey Houston Smith both of Dallas, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of St. Thomas' Episcopal School in Houston. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas A&M University at College Station where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is employed by KBR, Inc. in Houston.
The groom is a graduate of Mirabeau B. Lamar High School in Houston. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Foundations from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He is employed by the McAlister Company in Houston.
Following a honeymoon in the French Polynesian Islands, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
