Miss Elizabeth Ashley Rigo and Mr. Nicholas Joseph Zdeblick were united in marriage on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at seven o'clock in the evening at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. L. James Bankston. Organist, John Gearhart, led the ceremony music accented by trumpeters and soloist, Anna Teagarden. The Scriptures were read by Jamie Christine Price and William Scott Farrell. A dinner reception followed at La Colombe d'Or in Le Grand Salon. Music for dancing was provided by Doppelganger.
The Bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Mark S. Rigo of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Doris Cotton and the late Mr. Hiram E. Cotton of Vero Beach, Florida and Mr. and Mrs. Henri S. Rigo of Olmsted Falls, Ohio.
The Groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. William J. Zdeblick of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is the grandson of Mrs. Irene Bodine and the late Martin S. Bodine of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mr. and Mrs. William Zdeblick of Denver, Colorado.
On the evening before the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom in the Manor House at The Houstonian Hotel. Mrs. Doris Cotton, grandmother of the bride, hosted a bridal luncheon at Brennan's of Houston.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture ball gown fashioned of white silk organza by Vera Wang. The fitted strapless bodice featured an empire band of delicate beading. The chapel length skirt opened into an inset of intricate accordion pleats layered to the end of the train. The bride carried a rounded hand-tied bouquet of Pink Majolika spray roses, Long Arifa Roses, Eskimo Roses, Pavarotti Roses, and Miniature Pink Calla Lilies.
Mrs. Michelle Ostroff Rigo of Houston, Texas, sister-inlaw of the Bride, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included the groom's sister, Miss Anna Elizabeth Zdeblick of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Miss Jennifer Anne Ostroff of Dallas, Texas; Miss Sara Chrystine Parker of Houston, Texas; and Miss Jaclyn Heather Sharfin of New York, New York. The bridesmaids wore floor length two piece ensembles by Vera Wang in a blush pink silk faille. House Party attendants included Miss Lindy Margaret Cheatham of Coppell, Texas; Miss Jessica Marie Scott of Dallas, Texas; Miss Christina Michelle Luder, Miss Jamie Christine Price, and Miss Jennifer Noelle Stewart, all of Houston, Texas.
Serving the Groom as his Best Man was Mr. Patrick David Saunders Payan of Houston, Texas. Groomsmen included Mr. Michael Henri Rigo of Houston, Texas, brother of the bride; Mr. Mark Schilling Goldberg of San Francisco, California; Mr. Joshua Warren Baker, Mr. Christopher Scott Bradshaw, and Mr. Anthony John Gracely, all of Houston, Texas. Serving as Ushers were Mr. Bradley Jay Aiken of Houston, Texas; Mr. Alberto Carrero of Miami, Florida; Mr. Jeffrey Douglas Miller of San Jose, California; Mr. Adam Thomas Mueller of Crescent Springs, Kentucky; Mr. Steven Michael Kane and Mr. Sean Stewart Suder, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Beth is a graduate of Cypress Creek High School and the University of Texas at Austin where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Beth has worked for Simmons & Company International as an investment banking analyst. In August, she will begin work in San Francisco for Gap Inc. as an analyst in the Store Planning division.
Nick is a graduate of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and Rice University where he received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Managerial Studies. In Houston, Nick has worked for Morgan Stanley as an investment banking analyst and Fayez Sarofim & Company as a Junior Associate. In the fall, Nick will pursue a Masters Degree at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Following their honeymoon to France and Italy, Beth and Nick, along with their dog, Carmel, will reside in Menlo Park, California.
