Mr. Daniel Marion Feather III
Miss Brooke Kelly Herzstein and Mr. Daniel Marion Feather III were united in marriage on the evening of Saturday, June 5, 2004, at The Corinthian in Houston, Texas.
Rabbi Roy A. Walter and Cantor Vadim Tunitsky performed the double ring ceremony under a custom chupah designed by David Brown.
Antique carved wooden Corinthian columns resting on rose-covered pedestals were each topped with roses and cascading white orchids.
The sheer canopy of ivory chiffon was accented with fallen rose petals.
Music for the ceremony was provided by the Dave Zeger String Quintet.
Harry Rice created a romantic setting for the cocktail reception and Dinner Dance in The Grand Hall, where guests danced to the music of The Kelly Dean band and Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters.
On the eve of the wedding a Rehearsal Dinner was held at The Dunstan.
The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marc Smith Herzstein of Houston, Texas.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Helen Simkin, and the late Doctor Samuel Simkin, and Mr. Max Herman Herzstein and the late Isabell Smith Herzstein, all of Houston, Texas.
The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Marion Feather, Jr. of Menard, Texas.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Hansel Atkison of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Marion Feather, Sr. of Slaton, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an exquisite gown designed by Monique l'Huillier.
The sleeveless bodice was fashioned of ivory Alencon lace.
The skirt of honey silk organza fell in beautiful deep folds and elegant drapes.
The waist was accentuated by a wide sash of champagne silk ribbon, tied in a soft bow. To complement her ensemble, Brooke wore a coronet of filigreed gold leaves, tiny bridal pearls and crystals, which held her chapel length angel wing veil.
She carried a hand tied clutch bouquet of ivory and champagne roses and stephanotis blossoms.
Ms. Hayley Marisa Herzstein of Houston served her sister as Maid of Honor.
Bridesmaids were Ms. Catherine Kraft, sister of the Groom, of Houston, Texas, Doctor Ivy Patt of New Jersey, Mrs. Marci Klugman of Washington, D.C., Ms. Cassie Williford of Austin, Texas, and Ms. Ellen Barth, Ms. Jacqui Rick, and Mrs. Dori Lentnek, all of New York City.
They wore floor length gowns of black and ivory silk.
Thin straps held the fitted ivory bodices, and a long matching sash tied in a soft knot at the back was a beautiful contrast to the slim black skirt.
They carried nosegay bouquets of lavender Dutch roses.
Miss Abigail Rose Kraft, niece of the Groom, was the Flower Girl.
Mrs. Kimberly Simkin Glenn, cousin of the Bride, Ms. Julie Herman, Mrs. Katie Roberts, Ms. Seema Patel, and Mrs. Lisa Seigle were members of the House Party.
