Miss Rachel Marshall
Weds
Sig. Pierlugi Rossi
On Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Six in the evening, Miss Rachel Marshall and Sig. Pierluigi Rossi were married at the Basilica of Saints Cosma and Damiano in the Forum in Rome, Italy. The Mass was celebrated in Italian and English by the Most Rev. J. Michael Miller, Titular Archbishop of Vertara and Secretary of the Congregation for Catholic Education at the Vatican. He was formerly President of St. Thomas University in Houston. Selections from Sixteenthcentury masses and Cantata 140 by Bach were sung by cantors led by Maestro Dario Paolini. Maestro Marco Lo Muscio served as organist; instrumental pieces included "Trumpet Voluntary" by Clarke and "Hornpipe" for organ and trumpet. Dominique Varner and Gabriella Mackin, sisters of the bride, Brock Mackin, her brother-in-law, and Carlo Pergolari, the groom's cousin, served as witnesses. Daniela, Rebecca, Alessandra and Johanna Mackin, the bride's 6-year old nieces, served as flower girls. After the ceremony, a formal dinner was held for seventy people at Villa Miani overlooking Rome. Music was performed by the Swing Elite Quintet of Rome, and was selected by the Bride's father, a radio announcer for KBME.
