Summer Rae Filidei of Texas City and Joshua Wayne Chapman of West Texas City were united in marriage July 2, 2004, at five o'clock in the evening at the 1860 St. Joseph Church, Galveston.
The Wedding Ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception at the Hotel Galvez.
The bride is the daughter of Armido and Linda Filidei of Texas City.
She is the granddaughter of the late Alfonso and Virginia Medina of Galveston and Armido and the late Juanita Filidei of Galveston. The groom is the son of David and Diana Chapman of Santa Fe.
He is the grandson of Bernice and the late Morace Ward of La Marque and Victoria and the late Aubrey Chapman formerly of Texas City.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a princess cut gown in Ivory and Wine with a flipped tip, off the shoulder neckline beaded and embellished with a semicathedral length train.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, April Saucedo. Matron of honor was the bride's best friend, Amanda Jones.
Bridesmaids were Katherine Cavazos, Jessica Golden, Amber Puccetti, Becky Ward, and Mindy Soto.
Sharing the honor of best man were the groom's best friends George Munson Jr. and Martin Miranda.
Groomsmen were Michael Chapman, Jason Minter, Michael Puccetti, Jay Pierson, and John Derulle.
Flower girl was Azia Miranda. Ring bearer was Richard Mancuso Jr. The usher was Christopher Filidei.
The bride is currently working towards her bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. She is employed as a truancy assistant with the Galveston Independent School District Police Department. The groom is a third generation employee, at family owned and operated Chapman's Front End and Brakes. He also coaches part time for the O'Connell High School Baseball Team.
