Miss Robin Dessau Ellisor and Mr. Timothy Clay Meekins were united in marriage on Friday, July 9, 2004, at six-thirty in the evening at Bear Creek United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Pat Sparks. Music for the ceremony was performed by Chamber Music Unlimited, Festive Trio. Vocalists were Barry and Debbie Talley. The bride's cousin, Mrs. Mamie Bittick, of Houston, Texas, read scripture. At noon on the day before the wedding, a Bridal Luncheon was hosted by Sari Kroll, aunt of the bride, at Something Different Tea Room. On the eve of the wedding a Rehearsal Dinner at Texas Land and Cattle was hosted by the groom's parents.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Susi Looney and Mr. Robert Ellisor, both of Houston. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kroll of Houston, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lee Ellisor of Tarkington Prairie, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Meekins of Deer Park, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Gatsy Leonard and the late Mr. Harrold Lee Leonard both of Pine Valley, Texas and Mr. John R. Meekins and the late Mrs. Velma Meekins of Baytown, Texas.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore an Eve of Milady gown of antique ivory silk satin, enhanced with silver metallic embroidery and beadwork of mercury bugle beads and Austrian crystals. The fitted strapless bodice featured a straightacross neckline and dropped waist and was heavily embellished with beaded embroidery in a scrollwork design. The controlled A-line skirt was also decorated with the beaded embroidery, as was the cathedral length train. The bride wore a veil of antique ivory English silk illusion topped by a tiara of silver and natural pearls. The bride carried a white nosegay style bouquet with vendala, Sahara roses, orchids, stephanotis and freesias.
Miss Staci Lynn Ellisor of Houston, Texas, the bride's sister, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Cara Berry of Austin, Texas; Miss Susan Buchanan of New York City, New York; Miss Michelle Coscio of Houston, Texas; Miss Ale Creixell of Austin, Texas; Miss Lina Garcia of Austin, Texas; Miss Kellie Gwyn of Houston, Texas; Miss Gretel Perera of Austin, Texas; and Mrs. Kelli Roberts, sister of the groom, from Huffman, Texas. The Bridesmaids' gowns were deep red European satin by Bill Levkoff featuring a straight-across bodice with A-line skirt including box pleats in the back leading to a sweep train. The bridesmaids carried loose style bouquets of dark pine roses, red roses and purple stocks orchids.
Miss Courtney Elizabeth Meekins, niece of the groom, served as Junior Bridesmaid and carried a small replica of the bridesmaid's bouquet. Miss Madison Leigh Meekins, niece of the groom, served as Flower Girl and carried a pomander in the same flowers. Both girls wore floor length European red dresses fashioned to compliment the bridesmaid's design. Master Gary Bittick, nephew of the bride, served as Ring Bearer. House party attendants included Miss Courtney Burg and Mrs. Meredith Burg both of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Matt Meekins of Houston, Texas served his brother as Best Man. The groomsmen, also serving as ushers, included Mr. Kyle Ellisor of Houston, Texas; Mr. Tracy Looney of Los Angeles, California; Mr. Corby Meekins of Houston, Texas; Mr. Jeremy Meekins of Baytown, Texas; Mr. Marty Meekins of Los Angeles, California; Mr. T.J. Pelton of Clear Lake, Texas; Mr. Beau Roberts of Huffman, Texas; and Mr. Jason Thomasson of Houston, Texas.
After graduating from Cypress Falls High School in Houston, Texas, the bride attended The University Of Texas in Austin, Texas where she received a Bachelor's of Art with Honors in Communications and a minor in Business. After completing her degree she earned an Alternative Teaching Certificate and is currently a Spanish teacher for the Cypress Fairbanks School District.
After graduating from Shepherd High School in Shepherd, Texas, the groom attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. After completing his undergraduate degree, Clay attended Texas Woman's University in Houston where he received a Masters in Physical Therapy.
Following a honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Meekins will reside in Houston, Texas.
