Miss Melissa Ann Scott and Mr. Robert Bryan Wood were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at six-thirty in the evening at Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston. Melissa was given in marriage by her parents John and Ruth Scott of Houston. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dr. Michael L. Fry. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents, Robert and Rita Wood of Church Hill, TN., hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Canyon Cafe in the Galleria area.
Suzanne Michelle Scott, sister of the bride, was the Maid of Honor. Melissa's friends, Emily Christine Hays, Cynthia Kaye Hornbeck and Erika Kirsten Hunter served as bridesmaids. Victoria Lynn was the flower girl.
Mica Shawn Larkin, groom's best friend, was the Best Man. Friends of the groom Chad Donald Drinnon and Charles Lee Cobern, III, and the groom's uncle, James Vines Craft, Jr. were the groomsmen.
The bride's parents received out-of-town guests in their home, and together with the groom's parents entertained guests at local restaurants and area hotels. The newlyweds opened gifts at a post-wedding brunch hosted by the bride's parents in their home.
Melissa is a graduate of Jersey Village High School, and she received both her BM and Master's degrees from Sam Houston State University. Bryan graduated from Volunteer High School and East Tennessee State University. Both are band directors for the Leander ISD in Austin.
