Miss Michelle Elise Hulme and Mr. Robert Steven Lippert were united in marriage on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at twelve o'clock in the afternoon at First Presbyterian Church of Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend William Vanderbloemen. Ceremony music was provided by organist Bruce Powers, trumpeter Dan Shipman, soloist Janette Weatherbie Lippert, guitarist Michael Bradley Lippert, drummer Scott Matthew Lippert, and violinist Eric Cheng-Yu Fu. Scripture readings were given by Mr. Patrick John Dochety, Miss Alison Monroe Kouba, and Mr. Herbert Chip Wilmer. An afternoon reception and evening party, with music by The Cory Morrow Band, were held at the home of the bride's parents. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Vincent's. Prior to the wedding, a bridal luncheon was held at Backstreet Café by Mrs. Edwin Charles Christman, Mrs. Russell Thomas Goldsmith, Mrs. David Randolph Lionberger and Miss Stephanie Jean Lionberger.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Carl Hulme of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Martha Knox Christman and the late Mr. Edwin Charles Christman of Houston, Mrs. Anna Ruth Shedd and the late Mr. Woodrow Wilson Hulme and the step-granddaughter of the late Mr. Charles William "Charlie" Shedd of Ardmore, Oklahoma. The groom is the son of Mrs. Janette Weatherbie Lippert and Mr. Steven Joseph Lippert of Wyoming, Ohio. He is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Segwick Weatherbie and the late Robert Rumbel Weatherbie and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ralph Lippert of Wyoming, Ohio.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown designed by Carolina Herrera. Fashioned from ivory silk, the gown had a shirred organza strapless bodice and a full satin a-line skirt. To complement her gown, the bride chose a veil in ivory illusion edged in organza ribbon. The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of white, ivory, and cream roses.
Miss Jennifer Christine Hulme, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Melissa Elizabeth Hulme, sister of the bride, and Miss Stephanie Jean Lionberger of Houston, Miss Alison Catherine Heck of Wyoming, Ohio and Miss Alison Marie Holby of Atlanta, Georgia. The attendants wore strapless tea-length gowns of lilac chiffon. They carried bouquets of peonies, roses, sweet peas, hydrangea and lisianthus. Miss Kendal Charlotte Bamberger and Miss Lyndsay Alexis Bamberger served as flower girls.
Members of the house party included Miss Stacy Lee Bell and Miss Alison Monroe Kouba of Houston, Miss Jennifer Lindsey Bruggers of Cary, North Carolina, and Miss Elizabeth Erwin Pinchak of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Serving the groom as his Best Man was his brother, Mr. Michael Bradley Lippert of Wyoming, Ohio. Groomsmen were Mr. Scott Matthew Lippert, brother of the groom, Mr. David Carder Dupee, Mr. Eric Cheng-Yu Fu all of Wyoming, Ohio, and Mr. Jeffrey Scott Wheeler of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ushers were Mr. John Garrett Athon, Mr. William Ralph Cornelius, Mr. Adam Richmond Van Wagoner all of Houston, Mr. Jeffrey James Curley of Winter Park, Florida, and Mr. Matthew Timothy Eble of Charleston, South Carolina.
The bride graduated from St. John's School in Houston. She graduated cum laude from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with honors. Michelle is employed by Marinatha High School in Pasadena, California.
The groom graduated from Wyoming High School in Wyoming, Ohio. He graduated cum laude from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Bobby will be attending Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California in the fall.
Following a honeymoon in Jamaica the couple will reside in Pasadena, California.
