Miss Sharlene Elizabeth Hawkes and Mr. Jon O'Brien Clark were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend Father Joseph Konkel, O.P. Jennifer Radik , soloist provided music during the ceremony. The reception followed at the Briar Club with music provided by Andy Anderson Music. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Damian's Cucina Italiana on Friday evening.
The Bride is the daughter of Mr. Robert W. Hawkes of Houston and Mrs. Valdene Hawkes of Brownwood, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.Walter Hilton Hawkes of Houston, and the late Mr. and Mrs.Valson Jones of Brownwood, Texas.
The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wesley Buster Clark of Houston. He is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Powell Conti of Dallas, Texas and the late Mr. Charles M. Clark, Sr. of Waco, Texas and the late Mrs. Eleanor Hattox of Dallas, Texas.
The Bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. The bride's sister, Mrs. Arlene Hawkes Setzekorn of Katy, Texas, served as Matron of Honor. Other attendants were Miss Michelle Parham of Houston, and Miss Brooke Stone of Bellaire, Texas. The Bride's nieces, Miss Brittany Setzekorn, Miss Ashley Setzekorn, Miss Sarah Hawkes, Miss Rebecca Hawkes, and the groom's nieces, Miss Catherine Clark, Miss Elizabeth Clark, served as junior bridesmaids. The Bride's niece, Miss Deborah Hawkes, served as the flower girl.
The Groom's father, Mr. George Wesley Buster Clark served as the Best Man In memory of the groom's late brother Mr. Charles Joseph Clark. Groomsmen were Mr. Steven Hudgins of Houston, brother-in-law of the groom, and Mr. Adam Esacove of Austin, Texas. Ushers were Mr. David Hawkes of Houston, brother of the bride, Mr. Peter Volpe, III of Houston, Mr. Thomas Volpe of Austin, Texas and Mr. Andrew Conti of Dallas, Texas: cousins of the groom, and Mr. Jason Dell Ario of Houston. The bride's nephew, Master Matthew Setzekorn of Katy, Texas, served as a ring bearer
Mrs. Mary Catherine Hudgins, sister of the groom, and Mrs.Darlene Hawkes Yblood, sister of the bride, were readers. The wedding and reception flower arrangements were designed by Antoinette Sepulvada Senior Floral Designer of Central Market.
Sharlene is a graduate of Westbury High School in Houston and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She attended Graduate Studies at the University of Houston. She currently works in the banking industry.
Jon is a graduate of Bellaire High School and the University of Houston. He currently serves as President for the business consulting firm, Annovo.
Following a wedding trip to Maui, the couple will reside in West University.
