Miss Julie Louise King and Mr. David Scott Hinsley were united in marriage on February 15, 2004 in Kailua, Hawaii. Kahu Doug, a family friend, officiated the ceremony. Legendary Damian Farden & Trio: ukulele, guitar, and singer played traditional Hawaiian music before the ceremony and played "Lei Aloha Lei Makamai". The ceremony and reception took place at a family home Kailua Beach. Immediately following the ceremony, Julie performed a beautiful traditional Hawaiian "Hula" for her new husband, Scott. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Oahu Country Club.
The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip King of Kailua, Hawaii. The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Raymond Hinsley, Jr. of Richmond, Tx.
Escorted by her father, the Bride carried traditional lei called a Maile/Pikake to her Groom. The Bride wore a beautiful Hawaiian lei fitting perfectly around her neck and complimented the custom silk dress with white orchids in her hair.
Mrs. Maile Feick, sister of the bride of Houston, served as Matron of Honor. Mr. Alan Bradley, childhood friend of the groom, of Richmond, Tx, served as the Best Man.
The bride is a graduate of SMU with a BBA and is currently employed in Public Relations with Continental Airlines in Houston. The groom is a graduate of Houston Baptist University with a BBA and is currently an associate with "TSI", Texan Inspection Services of Richmond.
Following the honeymoon to Rome and Paris, the couple now resides in Richmond.
