Miss Stephanie Marie Amosson and Mr. Edgar Ross Kyger IV were united in marriage on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at half after five o'clock in the evening at St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Houston. The double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Charles Ruehl. A reception followed in the La Fontaine Ballroom of The Warwick Hotel. On the eve of the ceremony, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Damian's Cucina Italiana.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Harold Amosson of Amarillo, the granddaughter of Mrs. Vaughna Amosson and the late Mr. Harold Amosson of Eagle Grove, Iowa and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller of Des Moines, Iowa. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Edgar Ross Kyger III of Lufkin, the grandson of Mrs. Edgar Ross Kyger Junior and the late Dr. Kyger of Fort Worth and the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Noble Pederson of Kilgore.
Given by her parents in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant strapless candlelight ivory gown that featured a satin beaded Battenburg lace bodice and a cuff neckline. The tulle skirt displayed lace accents and an embellished chapel train. The bride carried a hand-tied arrangement of roses and stephanotis.
Miss Leslie Elizabeth Wooldridge of Fort Worth and Miss Lisa Michelle Larson of Houston served as Maids of Honor. Bridesmaids included Mrs. Caroline Boone Mitchell, sister of the groom, Miss Vanessa Anne Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, cousin of the bride, Miss Whitney Leigh Brady of Katy and Miss Elizabeth Frances Lindsey of Nacogdoches. Miss Adria Loranne Martinez of Houston served as Flower Girl. The House Party included Miss Rian Megan Tipton of Amarillo, Miss Cara Elizabeth Runquist of Houston, and Miss Stacy Dawn Simpson of Lubbock.
Mr. Christopher Laird Boone of Lufkin, brother of the groom, and Mr. Scott Alan Neill of Katy served as Best Men. The groomsmen were Mr. John Bingham Mitchell of Houston, brother-in-law of the groom, Mr. Ben Morgan Browning of Atlanta, Georgia and Mr. Ted Read Browning of Maui, Hawaii, cousins of the groom, and Mr. Matthew Harold Amosson of Amarillo, brother of the bride. The ushers were Mr. Jonathan Daniel Shirley of Big Sandy, Mr. George Anderton Temple Junior of Richardson, Mr. Kevin Alan Teters of Ballinger, Mr. Michael Robert Donato of Plano, Mr. Aron Michael Tipton of Amarillo, and Mr. Brent Cole Huckabay of Amarillo. Master John Bingham Mitchell Junior of Houston, nephew of the groom, was the bearer of the wedding rings.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Amarillo High School in Amarillo, Texas. In December 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, cum laude, from Texas A&M University in College Station. She was also a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She is employed as a financial analyst with Hewlett-Packard, in Houston.
The groom is a graduate of The Marine Military Academy, Harlingen, Texas and attended the University of Houston until he was called to active military duty. His Marine unit will depart June 1, 2004 for overseas.
Their honeymoon will be delayed until 2005. Mr. and Mrs. Kyger will reside in Houston.
