Miss Jennifer Lynn Sullivan and Mr. Steven Dean Shellist were united in marriage on Saturday, May 29th 2004 at 7:00 pm at the Four Seasons Austin overlooking Town Lake. Deacon Raymond L. Sanders, Jr. of Austin, Texas and Rabbi Monty Eliasov of Austin, Texas both officiated the double ring ceremony. The reception was held in the Four Seasons' Grand Ball Room with Music provided by Big Time. The bride's mother hosted a luncheon for the bride and bridesmaids the Friday before the wedding at The Mansion at Judges Hill in Austin. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Thistle Cafe in downtown Austin, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Sullivan of Houston, Texas. She is the maternal granddaughter of Mrs. Antoinette Barletta and the late Sebastian Barletta of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Fraternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Sullivan of Hopewell Township, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shellist of Dallas, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by Badgley Mischka of New York. The strapless, a-line design was made of an ivory silk zibeline. The bodice featured a camo design with caviar pearl embroidery. To compliment her gown, the bride wore an angel cut cathedral length illusion veil. For the reception, Jennifer's grandmother, Antoinette Barletta, made a waist-length illusion veil and garter with lace from Venice, Italy. Jennifer also wore a sixpence in her right shoe given to her by her mother, who also was given the same sixpence by her mother-in-law (Betty Sullivan) on her wedding day.
Serving the bride as maid of honor was Kimberly Vavrek of Houston, Texas. Matron of Honor was Stacy Schoppa Cutchall of Dallas, Texas. Bridesmaids included were Lori Shellist (sister-in-law to be) of Houston, Texas, Dr. Marla Magness Myers of Houston, Texas and Blair McDaniel Walker of Dallas, Texas.
Serving the groom as Best Men were his two brothers, Martin Shellist of Houston and Ronald Shellist of Denver, Colorado. Groomsmen included were Mark Sullivan, Jennifer's brother from Houston, Texas, Craig Goldstein of Louisville, Kentucky, and Brent LeBlanc of Houston, Texas.
Ushers included Johnny Trujillo of Tampa, Florida, Hugh Plummer of Houston, Texas, Bryan Arnwine of Houston, Texas, and Jey Franken, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Honorary ring bearer for the ceremony was the groom's nephew, Maxwell Gray Shellist of Houston, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Friendswood High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Textiles and Design from the University of Texas, Austin. She is a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority Alumna, and is a member of the Houston Junior League. She has just completed four years as Regional Merchandising Manager for Kate Spade of New York, and is currently a manager of the Kate Spade Boutique in Houston, Texas.
The groom is a graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Texas, Austin. He is also a graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Hotel Management. In addition, Steve is also a graduate of South Texas College of Law, where he earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence. He is currently an Assistant District Attorney for Harris County, Texas.
After honeymooning at IKAL Del Mar in the Mexican Riviera, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas with their Yorkshire Terrier, Taylor.
