Miss Courtney Anne Thompson and Mr. Jeffery Michael Heun were united in marriage on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at seven-thirty in the evening at the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Richard Gundrey, with music provided by organist Mark Childers, and vocalist Mrs. Edina Welsh Sauer, cousin of the bride. The scripture reading was given by Mrs. Stacey Strong Thompson, sister-in-law of the bride, of Austin, Texas. Following the ceremony, guests were escorted to the reception by Mariachi Porvenir through the historic Santa Fe Plaza. The reception was held at the Eldorado Hotel with music by Spectrum.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. On the day of the wedding, a bridesmaids' luncheon was hosted by Mrs. Bonnie Ambrus and Mrs. Mary Ann Kubeczka, godmother of the bride, at La Casa Sena.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson and Mr. Frank Edward Thompson of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kocurek and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thompson of Houston, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael James Heun of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is the grandson of Mr. Weldon Nix and the late Mrs. Sybil Nix of Henrietta, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Arlene Heun and the late Mr. John Heun of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin-faced organza designed for the Marisa Collection. Her veil of French illusion was held by a tiara of silver, pearls and crystals. She carried a European nosegay bouquet of white and champagne roses, white miniature calla lilies and white hydrangea.
Serving the bride as Matron of Honor was Mrs. Mandy Marsh Click of Evanston, Illinois. The bridesmaids included Miss Amy Dunn and Mrs. Jessica Hudgins Jacobe, both of Houston, Texas, Miss Denise Lian Heun, sister of the groom, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Candace Dyson Lyons of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Shelby Liedeker Mauldin of San Antonio, Texas. The bride's attendants wore two-piece gowns of blue faille and carried nosegay bouquets of roses, ranunculus, freesia and hydrangea. Miss Jordan Ashleigh Thompson and Miss Amanda Clare Thompson, nieces of the bride, of Austin, Texas served as Flower Girls.
Members of the house party were Mrs. Dana Hornsby Mitchell and Mrs. Tina Lewis Raia of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Joseph DeWitt Heun of Houston, Texas served his brother as Best Man. Groomsmen included Dr. Sahil Bakshi of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Mr. Bradley Michael Thompson, brother of the bride, of Austin, Texas.
Courtney is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She is a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque and is a Professional Healthcare Representative with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Jeff is a graduate of Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He is a District Sales Manager with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following a mini-honeymoon in Las Vegas and an extended one in Maui, the couple will reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
