Amy Elizabeth Moers and Michael Alan Reeves were united in marriage on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at seven o'clock in the evening at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church. The Reverend Laurens Allen Hall officiated the service of Holy Matrimony assisted by The Reverend Douglas Wayne Richnow. Scripture readings were given by Gerald William Reeves, father of the groom and Barbara Mudd Reeves, aunt of the bride. The reception followed at the Houston Country Club where guests were greeted with music by Mariachi Tipico and entertained with music by Klockwork. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Irma's Southwest Grill.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Keith Short of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Callahan Dillingham of Alice, Texas and Mrs. James Siddon Short of Henrietta, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gerald Reeves of San Antonio. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Reeves of Normal, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taminger of Bloomington, Illinois.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk satin gown, designed by Priscilla of Boston, with a draped skirt and a chapel length train which gathered in the back of the gown into a rhinestone brooch. The bride wore her sister's chapel length veil to which an ornate border of French Chantilly lace was added.
Mary Kathryn Burke served her sister as Matron of Honor along with Susan Claire Mercer. Attendants to the bride were Kelly Robertson Burnett, cousin of the bride, Hilary Anne Haag, Kristen Sullivan Berger and Emily Baker Amelio all of Houston, Texas. Aron Northington McDonald, Ashley Reynolds Vines, and Natasha Taylor Haas of Dallas, Texas. Amy Veselka Owen of Austin, Texas, and Elizabeth Nau Stephanian of Richmond, Virginia.
Members of the Houseparty were Joy D. Meyer, Allyson Elizabeth Rayzor, Elizabeth Goade Liles, and Michelle Renee Reeves. Brynne Elizabeth Burnett and Miranda Rose Reeves served as flower girls.
Mr. Tyler Douglas Reeves and Mr. David Gerald Reeves served their brother as Best Men. Attendants to the groom were Michael Daniel Steveken and Antonio Ignacio Macia of Houston, Texas. Neal E. Crawford and David Bentley Craig of San Antonio, Texas. David Brent Meers and Kevin James Lloyd of Dallas, Texas. Roy Wesley Jageman of Ft. Worth, Texas, Charles David Witta of Fairfax, Virginia, and John Keith Short, brother of the bride, of San Francisco, California.
Ushers were Robert Craig Burke, Michael David McClure, Gregory Philip Reeves, Alan Leslie Warren, and J. Wesley Currier. Brock Truman Burnett served as the ring bearer.
The bride is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Houston and Texas A&M University where she was a member and past chapter president of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is a member of the Junior League of Houston and is employed as the Director of Staffing for Sysco Corporation.
The groom is a graduate of Churchill High School in San Antonio and Texas A&M University. He is employed as an Account Executive with Datalink.
After a honeymoon to Italy, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
