Dr. Kecia Ledet Brown and Mr. Brent Edward Foxworth were united in marriage the afternoon of November 15, 2003 in the grand ballroom of the St. Regis Houston Hotel. The Reverend William A. Lawson officiated the double ring ceremony. Korie and Kaylan Brown of Nashville, sisters of the bride, and Corey Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, read from the Old and New Testament. The Dave Zeger String Quartet, Freida Malone and Gerard Green provided music at the wedding. The celebration consisted of a reception and formal dinner highlighted with dancing to the rhythms of Collectors Item. Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Falcon hosted the wedding rehearsal dinner in their home on the eve of the wedding.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coleman and Mr. Kenneth L. Brown of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lovenia Brown and the late Mr. Noel Brown of Galveston, Texas, and the late Reverend and Mrs. William Ellison, Jr. of Austin, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Elsie Key Foxworth and Mr. Edward Foxworth of Atlanta, Georgia. He is the grandson of Mr. Melvin Key of Cincinnati and the late Mrs. Elsie Clayton of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mr. Howard Foxworth and Mrs. Nettie Foxworth of Atlanta, Georgia.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant, strapless, Lazaro gown of ecru silk tulle delicately embroidered and encrusted with crystal beading. Her custom cathedral length veil flowed from a crown of crystal stones. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of light gold calla lilies and roses.
Serving her sister as Matron of Honor was Mrs. Kendra Brown Mhoon of Houston, Texas. Miss Taylor Morgan served as flower girl. The bride's mother, her three sisters, and the flower girl wore Jerelyn Couture originals.
Mr. Antar Bailey of Douglasville, Georgia served as Best Man.
Sterling Key of Covington, Georgia, Robert Holt of Decatur, Georgia, Travis Battle of Jonesboro, Georgia, Harold Head, Jonathon Ingram, and Brian Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia, Marlo Jenkins of Hampton, Georgia, Desmond Scantling of Nashville, Tennessee, Jason Brown of Northridge, California, and Blaise and Perric Falcon of Houston, Texas were wedding attendants.
The bride is a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a practicing Obstetrician-Gynecologist and U.S. Army Captain in Fort Polk, Louisiana.
The groom is a graduate of Albany State University and earned a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Tennessee. He is a regional sales director with Rodenstock.
Following a honeymoon cruise the couple will reside in Alexandria, Louisiana.
