Miss Anne McDermid Reardon of Fort Worth and Mr. Derek Steele Anderson of Houston were united in marriage November 8, 2003, at half after seven o'clock in the evening at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. The Reverend Dana Jones and Dr. Stuart Pickell officiated the double ring ceremony followed with Communion service by intinction.
The ceremony music was provided by vocalist, Ava Pine, the Debbie Brooks Chamber Ensemble, and organist, J. Brent McCartney. A reception hosted by the bride's parents followed at the Fort Worth Club where guests danced to the music of The Norman Richmond Band.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bistro Louise. The bridesmaids' luncheon was given on the morning of the wedding by the bride's aunts, Ms. Anne Strickland Richardson and Mrs. Marguerite Bradford Richardson, and close family friends, Mrs. James David Tracy, Mrs. Richard Kevin Garbee, and Mrs. Bradley Wilson Tracy.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Austin Reardon of Fort Worth and the granddaughter of Mrs. Myra Austin Reardon of Augusta, Georgia, the late Dr. and Mrs. Darrell Ervin Richardson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gorman Reardon. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Steele Anderson of Houston, Texas and the grandson of Mrs. Karl Sanford Monson of St. Peter, Minnesota, the late Mr. Monson, Mrs. Eulalia Louise Neibold of Brentwood, California, and the late Mr. Harold Clifton Anderson of Los Angeles, California.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected an exquisite gown of ivory Italian satin designed by Richard Glasgow. Elegant in its simplicity, the gown featured a fitted bodice with a cummerbund of gardenia satin surrounding the natural waist. Streamers of gardenia satin fell softly from beneath the back of the pleated waistband beyond the edges of the chapel length train. The bride's gown was complemented with a chapel length veil of ivory satin trimmed French illusion completed with a delicate tiara. The bride carried a satin-wrapped hand-tied bouquet of Virginia and Timeless roses accented with Hypericum berries and Purple Allium.
Miss Stephanie Lyn Sheppard of Fort Worth, Texas served as maid of honor and Mrs. Mary Kay Hyde Havenstrite of Houston, Texas served as matron of honor. Her bridesmaids were Mrs. Sandra Strickland Bembenek of Dallas, Texas, Miss Mary Elizabeth Colchin of Houston, Texas, Miss Emily Blair Hollier of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Lawrence of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Stephanie Webb Rasch of Houston, Texas, and Miss Emily Barnard Wesselman of Houston, Texas. Miss Ainsley Hayden Earhardt of Columbia, South Carolina and Miss Elise Giles Earhardt of Charleston, South Carolina, cousins of the bride, were members of the house party.
Mr. Kevin William Moody of Houston, Texas served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Michael Gorman Reardon of Fort Worth, Texas, brother of the bride, Dr. Patrick Randolph Johnson of Houston, Texas, Mr. David Bass Lawrence III of Houston, Texas, Mr. Guillermo Carlos Palmer of Houston, Texas, Mr. James Peter Sivco of Houston, Texas, Mr. Brian Clasen Thorp of Houston, Texas, and Mr. Chad Baldwin Turner of Houston, Texas. Ushers were Mr. Dana Scott Anderson of Pasadena, California, brother of the groom, Mr. Robert Francis Reardon of Augusta, Georgia, uncle of the bride, and Mr. James McLeod Bracey of Richmond, Virginia.
The bride is a graduate of Fort Worth Country Day School and Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She is currently employed as a marketing manager at Hewlett-Packard in Houston.
The groom is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, attended the University of Texas, and graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. The groom received a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. He is currently employed as a senior analyst at Reliant Energy in Houston.
Following a honeymoon to Saint Martin Island of the Lesser Antilles, the couple will reside in Houston.
