Miss Evelyn Allison Lasaine and Mr. Esteban Vazquez were united in marriage on Saturday, November 8, 2003, at one o'clock in the afternoon at Saint Anne's Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Father Jack Hanna, C.S.B. Music for the ceremony was provided by soloist Michelle Hindmarch, organist Jim Ross and violinist Sergei Galperin. Readings were given by Mr. Victor Gutierrez and Miss Diana Ruiz. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at Brennan's. Music was provided by Los Gallitos. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Courtyard on Saint James Place.
The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred David Lasaine of Katy, Texas. The bride's mother is the former Miss Carol Ann Diano of New Orleans, Louisiana. Abby is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Francis Diano, Senior of New Orleans, Louisiana, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Max Lasaine of Chicago, Illinois.
The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herminio Vazquez of The Woodlands, Texas. The groom's mother is the former Miss Maria Cabello Aguirre of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. Steve is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gregorio Cabello of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Esteban Vazquez of Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, Abby wore an ivory Pronovias gown. The strapless gown was of silk organza with a bodice of gathered chiffon. The cathedral length train, consisting of two panels of chiffon, flowed from the back of the bodice. The bride wore her mother's veil and pearls given to her by her parents for her sixteenth birthday. She carried a hand tied bouquet of white calla lilies.
Miss Elizabeth McKinney of Houston, Texas, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Ann Brearley of Dallas, Texas, Miss Kathryn Shephard Diano, cousin of the bride, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mrs. Katherine McLeod Oxspring of Houston, Texas, and Miss Laura Cornelius Stevens of Paris, France. The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown gowns of their choosing designed by Watters and Watters and carried bouquets of terracotta roses. Miss Caitlin Allyson Diano, cousin of the bride, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, served as flower girl. She wore an ivory tea length dress designed by Strasbourg for Children. Members of the house party included Mrs. Lori Brown, Mrs. Betsy German, Mrs. Christina Moreland and Miss Lyndsey Smith.
The groom's brother, Mr. Jose Antonio Vazquez, of The Woodlands, Texas, served as best man. Groomsmen included the bride's brothers, Brian Gerard Lasaine and Michael Albert Lasaine, Richard Adesh Mahabir, Lance Gregory Moreland, all of Houston, Texas. Masters Simon Gregory Vazquez and Thomas Antonio Vazquez, nephews of the groom, served as ring bearers.
Abby is a graduate of James E. Taylor High School in Katy, Texas, and of Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing with a minor in French. She is currently an Account Supervisor with Stevens|FKM Public Relations in Houston, Texas.
Steve graduated from Saint Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, and from the University of HoustonDowntown. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. He is currently Corona Brand Manager at Silver Eagle Distributing in Houston, Texas.
Following a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Abby and Steve will reside in Houston, Texas.
