Miss Tennessee Jeanne Cline and Mr. David Alan Ott, Jr. were married on August 2, 2003, at half after six in the evening at the Roaring Fork Club in Aspen, Colorado. The Reverend Joan Goodwin-Lewis officiated and blessed the double-ring ceremony. The bride's parents hosted a dinner reception and dance following the ceremony. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a dinner honoring the couple at the Hotel Jerome.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Leslie Gaillard Cline of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Charles Cline, Jr. of Amarillo. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Dean McNaughton and the late Mr. Richard Charles Cline of Amarillo. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul William Gaillard of Indian Wells, California, and the late Mrs. Jeanne Woolley Gaillard of Houston.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. David Alan Ott of Houston. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marie Perkins Ott of Houston and the late Mr. Ellsworth Alan Ott of Conroe. He is also the grandson of Mrs. Jean Wilcox Ferguson and the late Mr. B. J. Ferguson also of Houston.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory silk twill designed by Vera Wang. The strapless gown featured a fitted bodice and floor-length, A-line skirt with a train attached. To complement her gown, the bride wore a cathedral-length mantilla veil of ivory French lace which framed her face and extended beyond the length of her train. For the reception, the bride added a Regency bolero jacket of matching French lace.
Mrs. Catherine Collins Masterson and Miss Lajla Anne Cline served their sister as Matron and Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Lillian Lyles Beery and Miss Lindsey Paige Caven both of Houston, Mrs. Rachael Burns Miclette of Hartford, Connecticut, Miss Courtney Egerton Cline, Miss Katherine Lane Farish Criner, Miss Kerri Elizabeth Geller all of New York, Miss Jennifer Leigh Giles and Miss Angie Nicole Tashnek both of Los Angeles, Miss Adelaide Craig Hassenfelt of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Mrs. Elizabeth Ott Herndon of Westfield, New Jersey. The groom's niece, Miss Lola Marie Herndon, of Westfield, New Jersey served as a flower girl. In addition, family friends Miss Wylie Marie Masterson, Miss Kelly Stewart Masterson and Miss Laura Carroll Masterson, all of Houston, also served the bride as flower girls.
The groom's father, Dr. David Alan Ott, served as Best Man. The Groomsmen were Mr. Michael Kevin Breen, Mr. George McLaughlin Masterson, and Mr. Eugene David Werlin all of Houston. Also serving the groom as Groomsmen were Mr. Robert Paul Breunig, Jr., Mr. Mavis Parrott Kelsey III and Mr. Charles Andrew Marsh all of Austin, Mr. Ashley Brandon Cheek of Dallas, Mr. Daniel Rogers Herndon, Jr. of Westfield, New Jersey, Mr. Charles Berdon Lawrence, Jr. of New Orleans, Mr. Dana Bruce Ott and Mr. Bryan Patrick Whitworth, both of Washington, D.C. The bride's nephew, Master Jackson Collins Masterson, of Houston served as ring bearer.
The bride is a graduate of St. John's School and the groom is a graduate of the Kinkaid School in Houston. Both graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. The bride is currently employed with the interior design firm Branca in Chicago, Illinois, and the groom is enrolled in the Master of Architecture program at The Illinois Institute of Technology.
Following their honeymoon trip to Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Ott will make Chicago their home.
