Miss Jennifer Rae Morrissey and Mr. Peter Christopher Ruggero were united in marriage on Saturday, August 2, 2003, at six o'clock in the evening at Cypress Creek Christian Church in Spring, Texas. The double ring candlelight ceremony was officiated by Dr. Earl Bissex. Music was provided by Mr. Jay Whatley, organist and pianist, Mr. Christian Clark, soloist, and Ambient Brass. Scripture readings were given by the bride's godfather, Mr. Michael Donald Morrissey of Venice, California. A dinner reception, hosted by the bride's parents, followed in the Grande Ballroom of The Houstonian with music provided by Eclipse Band and Orchestra. A bridal luncheon was held the day before the wedding at La Strada and was hosted by the groom's grandmother, mother, sister and sister-in-law. On the eve of the ceremony, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Café Northgate.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Thomas Morrissey of Houston, Texas. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. Tracy Baker and the late Mr. Paul Baker of Columbus, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Morrissey of Livonia, Michigan. The groom is a son of Mrs. Beatriz Maria Ruggero of Corpus Christi, Texas and Dr. Pedro Alberto Ruggero of Austin, Texas. He is a grandson of Mrs. Yolanda Salvatico de Mosca of Corpus Christi, Texas and the late Mr. José Mosca of Río Tercero, Argentina and Mrs. Violeta Marin de Ruggero and the late Dr. Alberto Ruggero of Río Tercero, Argentina.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by Rena Koh. The A-line gown of silk wool with a silk organza overlay had asymmetrical beading of crystals and pearls throughout and thin beaded straps. She wore a tiara of crystals and pearls with a floorlength veil. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of green and cream calla lilies, bells of Ireland, muscari, lady slipper orchids, green roses and white freesia. The bridal bouquet, as well as all the florals and Grande Ballroom décor, were created by Darryl Murchison Designs. Karen Brown, of Memories in Bloom, coordinated all the day's events.
Miss Meredith Megan Morrissey of Houston, Texas served her sister as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Jennifer Darina Waldhauser of Austin, Texas; Miss Ruth Maria Ruggero, sister of the groom, of New York City; Mrs. Heather Hope Ruggero, sister-in-law of the groom, of Austin, Texas and Miss Lindsey Taylor McPeak of Palatino, California. The bridesmaids wore custom designed strapless A-line gowns of ice blue and ivory satin and carried hand-tied bouquets of green calla lilies, green roses and muscari.
Mr. Justin Michael Lee of Corpus Christi, Texas served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Dr. Roque Pedro Ruggero, brother of the groom, of Austin, Texas; Mr. Camilo Javier Ruggero, brother of the groom, of Miami Beach, Florida; Mr. Michael Thomas Morrissey, brother of the bride and Mr. Jon Paul Hoelscher, both of Houston, Texas. Ushers were Mr. Duncan Hanby-Skinner of El Paso, Texas and Mr. James Paul Jensen of Corpus Christi, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Klein Forest High School and The University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Advertising. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at The University of St. Thomas in Houston. The groom is a graduate of W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi and The University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government. He is currently a third year law student at South Texas College of Law in Houston.
Following a honeymoon to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Jennifer, Peter and their golden retriever, Bailey, will reside in Houston, Texas.
