Miss Angela Ashley Jones and Mr. James Thompson Lee II were united in marriage on Saturday, July 26, 2003, at half past seven in the evening at First United Methodist Church in Midland, Texas. The Rev. Dr. Lane Boyd officiated the double ring ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Joan Lucas, organist, Mrs. Carol Hall, pianist, Mrs. Amy Stoker, soloist, Michael Santorelli, trumpeter and the Strings of the West Quartet. Miss Evelyn Kelley Parker of Dallas, Texas read scripture selections. A wedding reception followed at the Petroleum Club of Midland. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at The Midland Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bixby Jones of Midland and the granddaughter of Mrs. Weldon Maxey Jones of Midland and the late Mr. Weldon Maxey Jones, and Mrs. Elmer Edgington of San Angelo and the late Mr. Elmer Edgington. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hammon Lee, of Houston, Texas, and the grandson of Mrs. Cornelia Connor Shappell of Wichita Falls and Mr. Harold Shappell of Henrietta, Texas, and Mrs. James Thompson Lee of Wichita Falls, Texas and the late Dr. James Thompson Lee.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride was attended by bridesmaids Carolyn Cornelia Lee and Mary Hammon Lee, sisters of the groom, Laura Frances Childress, Jennifer Lea Gentry, Erin Elizabeth Maberry, Amber Hightower Robertson and Corrine Able Wallace all of Houston, Texas; Kara Kidwell Bell of Midland, Texas; Jordan Beasley Davidson of Fort Worth, Texas; Farrah Morey Goodell, Melissa Chalmers Harlow, Amanda Layne Medford all of Dallas, Texas and Marci Leigh Wood of Marshall, Texas. The bride is a graduate of Midland High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Texas Christian University. She is employed by Rice University. The groom is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Texas Christian University. He is employed by Lockton Marine and Energy.
Following a honeymoon trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. James Lee will reside in Houston, Texas.
