Miss Elizabeth Anne Selig and Mr. Adam Jason Darsky were united in marriage on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at seven o'clock in the evening at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was performed by The Reverend Elizabeth Masquelette with music by organist, Pat Farrah, Mainstreet Musicians, and soloist, Kim Carson. A reception followed at Houston Country Club with entertainment provided by Kristopher. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Courtyard at St. James.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edward Selig and Mr. and Mrs. G. Michael Fjetland. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gordon Edward Selig and the late Mr. Gordon Edward Selig; and Mr. Philip Abbott Masquelette and The Reverend Elizabeth Simmons Masquelette. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Bruce Calder Billingsley and the late Mr. Bruce Calder Billingsley; the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter Clemens; the late Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis Jackson; and the late Mr. and Mrs. August Lewis Selig. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Darsky. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Darsky and the late Mr. and Mrs. Abe M. Davis.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant strapless gown fashioned of ivory silk organza by Vera Wang. The gown featured a fitted bodice with an envelope pleat at the back in ivory duchess satin. Two sculpted bows of satin fastened across the back of the gown, a panel of the same ivory satin was placed along the center back of the bodice to the waist.
Mrs. Courtney Grosskopf McHenry served as the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Deanna Beth Altenhoff, Miss Jennifer Jill Balady, Mrs. Christiane Joneson Chambers, Miss Laura Elizabeth Clemens, Miss Cathryn Claire Holmesly, Miss Mary Allene Holmesly, Mrs. Heather Johnson Mustain, Mrs. Mary Ruth Moore Meek and Mrs. Kathryn Wimberly Spinelli.
Mr. Peter Anthony Spetsiotakis served as the best man. The groomsmen were Mr. David Warren Bentzen, Mr. Lawrence Allen Dean, Mr. Jason Edward Donalson, Mr. Todd Andrew Grisham, Mr. Matthew Bradley Hamada, Mr. Ryan Christopher Leggiero, and the bride's brothers, Mr. Christopher Robert Selig, Mr. Jonathan Edward Selig and Mr. Philip Masquelette Selig. The groom's ushers were Mr. William Robert Burns, Mr. Samuel Edward Burns, Mr. Charles Wendell Frederick, Mr. Matthew Allan Jacob Mr. Brian Jacob Lell, Mr. Ryan Laurence Nelson, Mr. Scott Thieu Nguyen, Mr. Marshall Stephen Paskett, Mr. Roger Gerald Ryman, and Mr. Ashley Davidson Yoder.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Episcopal High School and graduated from Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, where she earned a degree in Corporate Communications and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She currently works as a marketing specialist for ChevronTexaco.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Bellaire High School and graduated from Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, where he earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He currently works as a news producer for KTRK-TV.
Following a honeymoon in Grand Cayman, Adam and Liz will reside in Houston, Texas.
