Miss Cara Marie Wennergren Frisbie and Mr. Thomas John Clayton were united in marriage on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at half past four o'clock in the afternoon at the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Reverend John Hines performed the double ring ceremony held outside on a large covered terrace overlooking the Caribbean.
Classical music selections were provided by A Touch of Elegance Trio.
A dinner reception followed in the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom with music provided by a popular Jamaican group the Pace Band.
On the day before the wedding a bridal luncheon at the White Witch Golf Clubhouse was hosted by the bride's sister.
On the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents on the West Beach at the Ritz-Carlton.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Richard Frisbie of The Woodlands, TX.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Aliazon Frisbie and the late Mr. Bryan Frisbie of Irvington, VA and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wennergren of Manchester, CT.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Clayton of West Sacramento, CA.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clayton of Sacramento, CA and the late Mr. and Mrs. William James of Los Angeles, CA.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a Priscilla of Boston strapless duchess silk satin gown with a dropped waist and full box pleated skirt.
The neckline of the bodice and the hem of the cathedral length train were adorned with beaded embroidered Alencon lace and Austrian crystals.
Covered satin buttons finished the back of the gown. A matching veil extended beyond the hem of her gown. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Miss Hilary Frisbie of Austin, TX served as her sister's Maid of Honor.
Bridesmaids included Miss Ashley Armstrong of Lubbock, TX, Miss Shana Dahnert of Washington, D.C., Miss Rebecca Friedberg of San Francisco, CA, Mrs. Michelle Giorgio of Austin, TX, Mrs. Kelly Horn of Houston, TX, Miss Amy Lund of Omaha, NE, Mrs. Jennifer Mehis of Cedar Park, TX, and Mrs. Kimberly Robertson of Humble, TX.
The program attendant was Miss Katharine Clayton, sister of the groom, of West Sacramento, CA.
The bridesmaids wore silver two-piece Jessica McClintock gowns and carried bouquets of white orchids and pink torch ginger.
Mr. Raphael Haas, currently of London, England, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Omer Cedar of Los Angeles, CA, Mr. William Clayton, brother of the groom, of West Sacramento, CA, Mr. Scott Ferreira, head usher, of Escalon, CA, Mr. Jamil Ghani of Miami, FL, Mr. Nicholas Lapworth of Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Thomas Ochoa of Campbell, CA, Mr. Aaron Sotelo of San Francisco, CA, and Mr. Thomas VanStavern of San Francisco, CA.
The bride is a graduate of McCullough High School in The Woodlands, TX and Rice University where she earned dual B.A. degrees in Economics and Policy Studies. She is currently pursuing a JD at Harvard Law School. Before returning to school, she worked for Deloitte Consulting as a business analyst. This summer she will be working for The United States Department of Justice.
The groom is a graduate of River City High School in West Sacramento, CA and the University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Harvard Business School. Prior to returning to school, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group and Bang Networks. This summer he will be working for BEA Systems.
The couple met while participating in the Fall 1998 Semester at Sea Program, during which they sailed around the world and visited countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Following a Caribbean honeymoon and summer internships, the couple will reside in Cambridge, MA.
