Miss Valerie Lynn Worrall and Mr. Thomas Cason Folsom were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at half past seven o'clock in the evening at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. Officiating at the double ring candlelight ceremony and nuptial mass was Most Reverend Vincent M. Rizzotto, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston, and ceremony music was performed by Dave Zeger Strings, Lee Shipman, soloist, and Dan Shipman, trumpeter. Ms. Marian Folsom Key of Thonotosassa, Florida, aunt of the groom, and Mr. John Lee Cash of Houston, Texas, and Ms. Susan Lacy of Lake Jackson, Texas, both godparents of the bride, gave Scripture readings. Offertory Gift Bearers included Mr. Dan Worrall, Jr., Ms. Sarah Lacy, Ms. Karen Lacy, Ms. Clare Riffe and Ms. Fiona Worrall, all cousins of the bride. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a cocktail and dinner reception in the Grande Ballroom at The Houstonian with music provided by Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Grotto Ristorante. On Friday, the bride and her bridal party were honored at a bridal luncheon at the home of Mrs. Mary Worrall of Fulshear, Texas, which was also hosted by Mrs. Rita White, Mrs. Nancy Peterson and Ms. Susan Lacy, all aunts of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marion Worrall of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph Cash of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Griggs Worrall, Jr. of Pearland, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fred Folsom of Thonotosassa, Florida. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert William Schuler of Tampa, Florida, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Franklin Folsom of Thonotosassa, Florida.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected an ivory gown of silk satin designed by Amsale of New York. The gown's strapless bodice was embellished with re-embroidered Alencon lace, which was hand beaded with iridescent sequins and seed pearls. The same embroidered lace was applied to the hem of the full a-line style skirt and along the border of the gown's chapel length train. To complement her gown, the bride wore a dainty headpiece of cultured pearls and crystals with a fingertip length veil of ivory illusion with merrow edging. The bride carried a delicate round bouquet of Vendela, Message, and Ariana roses in colors of cream, white, and pale yellow.
The bridal party wore formal floor length two-piece a-line gowns of peau de soie satin in ivory with a contrasting trim of moonlight satin. The sleeveless gowns had dainty buttons down the back of the bodice. They each carried a delicate bouquet of Polo roses.
Serving the bride as Honor Attendant was her brother, Mr. Matthew James Worrall of College Station, Texas. Bridesmaids included Ms. Robin Finke, Ms. Sarah Little and Ms. Jana Sicola, all of Houston, Texas; Ms. Rachel Boates of Cypress, Texas; and Mrs. Kandi Folsom Fernandez, Mrs. Tammy Folsom Grant and Ms. Ashley Folsom, all of Thonotosassa, Florida. Serving as Junior Bridesmaid was Miss Lauren Josey, and serving as Flower Girl was Miss Audrey Cash, both of Houston, Texas. The House Party included Miss Holly Josey of Houston, Texas; Miss Kellee Eaton Fernandez and Miss Jessica Eaton Fernandez, both of Thonotosassa, Florida; Mrs. Cristina Burket of Bellaire, Texas, and Mrs. Jennifer Peterson Reynan of Chino Hills, CA.
Serving the groom as Best Man was Mr. Thomas Fred Folsom of Thonotosassa, Florida, father of the groom. Groomsmen included Mr. Scott Schuler and Mr. Brian Schaffnit, both of Tampa, Florida; Mr. Chris Hodges and Mr. Edwin Gierbolini, both of Atlanta, Georgia; Mr. David Hartley of Jacksonville, Florida; and Mr. Mark Hogrefe of Palm Harbor, Florida. Serving as Ring Bearer was Master Wyatt Grant of Thonotosassa, Florida. Ushers included Mr. Eric Pace of Aventura, Florida; Mr. Robert Davis of Washington D.C.; and Mr. Carlos Dorta of Jupiter, Florida.
The bride graduated from Saint Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the McCombs School of Business, and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Valerie is a recent graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, where she graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor. She will be employed at Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Houston, Texas.
The groom graduated from Blanch Armwood High School in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from The Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from The Rovetta School of Business and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He also received a Bachelor of Science in Business in Marketing from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Thomas is a recent graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor, and will practice law in Houston, Texas.
After studying for and completing the bar exam, the couple will honeymoon in Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Folsom will reside in Bellaire, Texas.
