Dr. Kathleen Glash and Colonel (ret) James Robert Sawyer, were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, March 8, 2003, at noon, at The Argyle in San Antonio. The wedding was performed by the Rev. Gregory Robertson. A seated luncheon followed the ceremony.
Kathleen is the daughter of Cora Conner Spear, of Houston, and the late J. Robert Glash of Alexandria, Louisiana. James is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Harry Mull, originally of Rome, Georgia. He is the father of Suzanne Sawyer Tapp, of Lubbock, Jennifer Sawyer Clary, of Dallas, and James Robert, "Chip", Sawyer, III, of Richmond, TX.
The matron of honor was Laura Norem, of Golden, Colorado, sister of the bride. The best man was Chip Sawyer, son of the groom. Flower girls were Macy Tapp, of Lubbock, granddaughter of the groom, and Savannah Merritt, of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, niece of the bride.
Kathleen is a graduate of Memorial High School, Houston, Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena California, where she received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. James completed graduated studies at Central Michigan University and The University of Hawaii and is a graduate of the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The couple met while both were employed at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
The couple honeymooned in the Eastern Caribbean, and will reside in San Antonio.
