Miss Carrie Katherine McMahan and Mr. Timothy Marshall Schwartz were united in marriage on Saturday, April 5, 2003, at seven o'clock in the evening at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The candlelight double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Larry Bertrand. Music was provided by organist Mr. Steve Roddy, and Mr. Robin Roewe, pianist and vocalist. A reception followed the ceremony at The Crystal Ballroom in the historic Rice Hotel, with music provided by NiteBeat. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was provided by the groom's parents at The University Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hoyt McMahan of Houston, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schwartz of Naples, Florida.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a Vera Wang gown, from the Couture collection, of ivory duchesse satin. The modified mermaid style dress had a deep v-neckline, with a wrap-around bodice and was complemented with rouched detail and pin tucked sash. She wore a cathedral length veil. The heirloom bracelet she wore belonged to her great, great grandmother and has been worn at the wedding of the bride's mother and the bride's two sisters.
Serving the bride as matrons of honor were her sisters, Mrs. Melissa McMahan Smith, Dallas, Texas; and Mrs. Kimberly McMahan Howard, Garland, Texas. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Mary Wood Crawford, Naples, Florida; Mrs. Lindsay Mahan Harris, Austin, Texas; Miss Kathryn Anne Netherton, New York, New York; Miss Nicole Marie Meszaros, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Cassie McMahan Tonsmiere, cousin of the bride, Birmingham, Alabama; Miss Deborah Lauren Westbrook, Houston, Texas; and Mrs. Tiffany Schwartz White, sister of the groom, Naples, Florida. The flowergirl was Katherine Elaine Howard, niece of the bride, of Garland, Texas.
The groom's best men were Mr. Jason V. Dorman, Nacogdoches, Texas; and Mr. Timothy Eugene Sheridan, Friendswood, Texas. Groomsmen were Mr. William Alton Hatcher, Naples, Florida; Mr. Benton Harper Howard, Garland, Texas; Mr. Trey Anthony Hutchins, Pearland, Texas; Mr. Matthew Dwight McMahan, brother of the bride, Dallas, Texas; Mr. Rick Allen Norris, Orlando, Florida; Mr. Michael Andrew Smith, Dallas, Texas; and Dr. David Curtis White, Naples, Florida. The ringbearer was Mr. Austin David White, nephew of the groom, Naples, Florida.
Serving in the bride's house party were Miss Joanna Lyn Boudreaux, Dallas, Texas; Miss Dawn Conner Denton, New York, New York; Miss Drew Virginia Denton, Biloxi, Mississippi; Miss Katheryne Elaine Klotz, Honduras; and Miss Lauren Catherine Peyton, Houston, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Memorial High School and Baylor University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and is presently employed by First Baptist Academy in Naples, Florida.
The groom is a graduate of Jasper High School and Baylor University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is presently employed by Gulfstream Homes in Naples, Florida.
Following a cruise around the islands of Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz will reside in Naples, Florida.
