Miss Christan Anne Richardson and Mr. Matthew Richard Fuqua were united in marriage on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at half past seven o'clock in the evening at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Dr. James F. Jackson performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Tom Jaber, organist, Jonathan Godfrey, violinist, Dan Shipman, trumpeter, Andrea Jaber, soloist. Ann Beeson, aunt of the groom, and Mary Ann Walsh, cousin of the bride, gave scripture readings. A reception and dance followed in the Grand Ballroom of The Houstonian, with music by Commercial Art of Houston, Texas. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Damian's Cucina Italiana in Houston, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Christian Richardson of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Hubbard of Rayville, Louisiana and Mrs. Kitty Matteile Sneed Richardson and the late Mr. Joseph Alfred Richardson, of Shreveport, Louisiana. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Fuqua, II of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Read Beeson, of Houston, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Fuqua, Sr. of Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a gown by Amsale in white silk satin. The strapless gown had a dropped waist bodice with Swarovski bijoux crystal detail at the neckline, and A line skirt with side pleats, and a bustled back.
Miss Leslie Scott Richardson, sister of the bride of Houston, Texas served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Jennifer Leigh Bollich, of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Leigh Wittenbraker Jones, of San Diego, California, Miss Elizabeth Underwood Munson, Mrs. Margaret Griffin Murphy, Miss Stacey Elizabeth Rozzell, Mrs. Jacinda Holeman Smith, all of Houston, Texas, and Miss Rachel Carroll Wells, of Dallas, Texas.
Members of the house party included Mrs. Laura Canion Chiles, and Miss Julie Elizabeth Davidson, both of Houston, Texas, Miss Aimee Jenkins, cousin of the bride of Fort Worth, Texas, Miss Brooke Ann Shuford, of Houston, Texas, and Miss Carrie Leigh Williams, of Los Angeles, California.
Miss Hannah Anderson Curtis, cousin of the bride of Houston, Texas, Miss Juliette Pauline Virzi and Lauren Adriana Virzi, both cousins of the bride of San Diego, California served as flower girls.
Mr. Michael Lee Fuqua, brother of the groom, of Houston, Texas served the groom as Best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Michael Edward Autenreith, of Houston, Texas, Mr. James Fredrick Hury, of Galveston, Texas, Mr. Joel Lee Moore, Mr. Henry Christian Richardson, brother of the bride, Mr. James Russell Smith, Jr., and Mr. Garner Perry Strickland, IV, all of Houston, Texas. Mr. Richard Lee Fuqua, III, brother of the groom of Houston, Texas, was a junior groomsmen.

Master Lucas Dane Sneed, cousin of the bride of Houston, Texas served as ring bearer.
Christan is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Texas Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She is a member of the National Charity League Juniors of Houston, Texas, a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where she is a member of the Ladies Season Box Committee, and she is a member of the Houston Delta Delta Delta Alumni group.
Matt is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He is a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he serves on the Parade Committee and the Lamb and Goat Auction Committee.
Following a honeymoon in the Hawaiian Islands, Christan and Matt will reside in Houston, Texas.
