Miss Emily Eleanor Broussard and Mr. Michael William Sperandio were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at seven thirty in the evening at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The Reverend Niall Nolan performed the double-ring ceremony and scripture readings were presented by Mr. Daniel Brower, friend of the bride and groom. Music was directed by soloist Mr. Steven Sloper, who was accompanied by Mr. John Randolph and the Fine Arts String Quartet and trumpeter, Ms. Theresa Hanebury. A reception followed at The Houston Country Club with music provided by The Sensual Soul Band.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner at Brennan's Restaurant. The day before the wedding, Mrs. Robin McConnell, Mrs. Betty Donohue, Mrs. Terri Etlinger, Mrs. Wandy Brown, and Mrs. Beverly Sanders, friends of the bride's mother, hosted the bridesmaids' luncheon.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Koetting Broussard of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sherman Sellingsloh, Mr. James Patrick Bailey, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Joseph Broussard. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Charles Sperandio Sr. of Lexington, Massachusetts. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ann Marie Donnelly and the late Mr. William H. Donnelly, and Mrs. Grace Sperandio and the late Mr. Charles E. Sperandio.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown designed by Rena Koth. To compliment her ensemble the bride wore her great great great grandmother's diamond brooch, her great grandmother's diamond and pearl bracelet, and her grandmother's diamond and pearl earrings.
Miss Kelsey Christine Mayabb, of Austin, Texas, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jessica Broussard, Miss Angela Colmenero, Miss Danae Dietiker, Miss Laura Drossman, Miss Chloe Dybdahl, Mrs. Emily Lane, Miss Daniella Moncivais, Miss Megan Richards, Mrs. Juanita Sherrard, Miss Annie Sperandio, and Miss Jamie Taylor. Miss Anna Bailey, cousin of the bride, served as her flower girl and Mr. John Arnold, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer. Members of the house party included Mrs. Jennifer Espeseth and Miss Sunny Ward.
Mr. Richard Charles Sperandio Jr., brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Bradley Broussard, Mr. John Broussard, Jr., Mr. Carter Crites, Mr. Kevin DeFrancesco, Mr. Jonathan Heefner, Mr. Jeffrey McGraughran, Mr. David Morris, Mr. Matthew Plasse, Mr. David Sweet, Mr. Filadelfo Trombetta, and Mr. Lance Williams. Serving as ushers were Mr. Thomas Donnelly, Mr. William Donnelly, Mr. Jay Moran, Mr. Timothy Moran, Mr. Mark Sperandio, and Mr. Matthew Turner.
Emily is a graduate of The University of Texas where she was a four year member of the Texas Pom. She is currently completing her Doctor of Jurisprudence at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She will be employed with Bracewell and Patterson in Houston, Texas upon completion of the Bar.
Michael is a graduate of The University of Texas and currently employed with the law office of Fred King in New Orleans. He plans to attend law school at The University of Houston in the fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Sperandio will spend their honeymoon in St. Lucia and return to Houston in the summer where they will make their home.
