Miss Natalie Tua Newburn and Mr. David Jeffrey Reitman were united in marriage on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at half past seven in the evening at the Houston Country Club in Houston. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rabbi Steven Gross. A reception followed at the Houston Country Club with music provided by Commercial Art. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Tony's with music provided by Yvonne Washington.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Burke of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Tua Smith and the late Mr. Tyson Smith II of Houston and Mrs. Josephine Newburn and the late Mr. Elton Newburn of Spicewood, Texas. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Edward Reitman of Houston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Eskenasy of Sharon Springs, New York and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Reitman of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her mother and father, Tua and Brian Burke, the bride wore a designer gown of white silk-faced satin by Elizabeth Filmore of New York. The sculptured gown featured a strapless bodice of corset-style with a softly curved dropped waist. The back bodice was laced with a platinum silk ribbon ending in a petal bow at the upper hip. The bride's ensemble was completed with the addition of a chapel length marrow edged veil and a tiara of fine crystals. The bride carried a delicate hand-tied collection of pale pink and white roses. The attendants wore platinum Vera Wang gowns. They carried bouquets of pale pink roses.
Mrs. Nina Bied, sister of the bride of New York served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaid was Kristen Smith, cousin of the bride. Miss Melissa Grenader, niece of the groom served as Junior Bridesmaid, Miss Lauren Grenader, niece of the groom, served as flower girl and Miss Jessica Grenader, niece of the groom, served as ring bearer, all of Houston.
Mr. Danny Moushin served the groom as Best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Tony Teich and Mr. William Kottwitz Jr. all of Houston. Ushers were Mr. Gregory Bied, brother in law to the bride of New York, Mr. Mark Grenader, brother in law to the groom, Mr. Cristopher Proler, Mr. Michael Caplan, and Mr. Jason Lewis all of Houston.
Following their honeymoon in Santa Barbara, California, Natalie and David will reside in Houston.
