Miss Melanie Alyse Jones and Mr. Kenneth Clark White, III were united in marriage on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at seven thirty in the evening at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Mr. Larry Bertrand performed the candlelight double ring ceremony with music provided by organist, Lew Zailer; harpist, Laura Smith; trumpeter, Daniel Shipman; and gospel quartet, A Chosen Few. A reception followed at Lakeside Country Club, with music provided by Island Mambo Jazz Kings. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Brennan's of Houston. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Estes Jones of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Naomi Stewart of Houston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clark White, Jr. of Dayton, Maryland and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Talley of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride selected a magnificent gown designed by Ron Lo Vece of New York. The strapless gown of soft white silk satin featured an ivory alencon lace bodice delicately beaded with Austrian crystals. The double-tiered illusion veil extended beyond the hem of her dress. She carried a tight bouquet of roses in shades of white, ivory and pink.
Miss Courtney Brooks Johnson of Houston served as Maid of Honor. Mrs. Merrily McKean Powers of Hattiesburg, Mississippi served as Matron of Honor. The bridesmaids were: Mrs. Cara Fecel Beckcom of Houston, Miss Amanda Marian Gambrell of Dallas, Miss Jamie Darlene Jones of Dallas, and Miss Katherine Rebecca Price of Houston. The flower girl was Sydney Alyse Schroder, the niece of the bride.
Mr. Jason Domenic Utley of Houston, and Mr. Kenneth Clark White, Jr. of Dayton, Maryland served as Best Men. The groomsmen were: Mr. Brian Augustus Beckcom of Houston, Mr. Andrew Stephen Johnson of Houston, Mr. John Charles Mallon of Houston, and Mr. Brent Andrew Powers of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The ring bearer was Scott Allan Schroder, the nephew of the bride.
The sisters of the bride and groom were honored in the ceremony: Mrs. Allison Parker Cobb of McKinney, Texas, Ms. Wynne Jones Oriani of Houston, Mrs. Angela Clare Schroder of Houston, Miss Laura Kathryn White of Dayton, Maryland, and Mrs. Lisa White Subat of Worcester, Massachusetts.

The bride is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, Texas and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising. She is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
The groom is a graduate of Howard High School in Ellicott City, Maryland and attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Following a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean the couple will reside in Houston.
